I have 3.5 now, what would be the advantage to having Phoenix, is it easier to learn 3d on or what. I know everyone seems to like it better for some reason.

GREAT customer response to emails. ( i've tried it)

an avg PC can run great don't need a mainframe PC.

Graphics are eye popping.

Also i love using my OWN transmitter. It gives you a very familiar, comfortable feeling in the actual field.
lets you build confidence quicker.

All this applies to g3.5 also.

I don't know about customer support because I've never needed it.

And yes, you can use your own transmitter in g 3.5

In addition to the listed items..

Phoenix models seem closer to the actual heli. Software must be better optimized because it looks better, but runs smoother. I was realflight all the way until I finally tried Phoenix.

Phoenix is more "real" than Real Flight will ever be.

And that about sums it up.

I don't care that G4 gives me the option of knocking over a garbage pail if I plow into it.

Why does realflight sell expansion packs if they give you all that good "free" stuff then?

Off the shelf I was dissapointed with realflight. It will do the same basic stuff as phoenix but go ahead and try to fly an axe cp in real life and then the same on real flight and see what you think.

Both will get the job done but personally I like the realism of Phoenix over G3. I had both and sold G3.5 after a month of using Phoenix. Neither one is 'easier' per say for learning 3d. After all, 3d is 3d. I believe Phoenix delivers a more 'true' experience for flying in general.

You will find a ton of Phoenix vs. x brand etc. threads if you do a search. You will also have a wide variety of claims what sim is the best. Ford vs. Chevy, Mac vs. PC, red heads vs. Blonds....too many choices

I charge my batteries once they drop to a certain voltage. It's nice using ur own transmitter.

Hi Jal,

I fly about 15 flights per day. I've only had to recharge my 2500 mah transmitter pack about three times this whole winter.

The signal doesn't go through the RF section of the radio, so a charge lasts forever. Charging is not an issue.

I LOVE using my own transmitter. It feels like the real thing because it IS!!!

Keep 'em flying.
