The fact that they do print the "FASST" logo on the panel but they don't want to integrate the module + antenna into the TX and I'm just wondering why?

- One radio for 2.4, other for 35 Mhz, other for 72Mhz... and so on.
I have no doubt that they would be more expensive than a modular one.

- If tomorrow comes another tecnology, you just would need to change the module, not the whole radio.

I think it is good as it is.

Is there a life outside the sim?

I would prefer an integrated system. But if this radio is much better at CCPM mixing and isn't anywhere near as slow as the 9C, I just may go this route instead of switching to JR.

Yeah, thank god that at least one manufacturer has not succumbed to the gross stupidity of integrating everything. That reeks of a low end radio - no versatility! Modular systems are clearly superior, as long as all the functionality is there!

Yeah, vast compatibility is the way to do business but I just don't know why they don't make a multi-compatible antenna host. A Tx will look much neater without the antenna sticking from the back...

Not bashing anyone here! What feature has Futaba put on this TX to compare with JRs servo-synch? What about data transfer?

Futaba FASST (at least on their higher end radios) sends the servo pulses in the same frame just as servo-sync does. JKOS showed us that. They just don't go on about it.

You'll notice on their 12X JR is offering a MODULAR system. As long as we are not doing some hack to the PPM stream adding latency there is no downside.

Don't think we'll see data transfer in this class from Futaba. You can back up and store models on additional campacs. Seems to me this is one of their differentiators between the 12 series and this radio which is half price. MAP under a 9303.

I wish it was here. Along with a range of receivers like Spektrum offers. To me that is where they are still missing the boat, too few options in cost, no of channels, and functionality. Kinda all or none at the moment with nothing cheap and light for small stuff.

Interesting voltage specs

From Tower:
SPECS: Transmitter;
Power Supply: 7.2V
Receiver;
Power Requirement: 4.8 - 6V
Looks like they're setting up for a 2S lipo or 6 cell NiCd/NiMh TX battery, and with a 4.8v min on the RX that pretty much rules out any NiMh or NiCd there.

I prefer a brand-built module system. Brand built meaning the module is specifically designed FOR the particular radio.

This allows backwards and frontwards compatibility.

Futaba has proven it can give us great performance with the TM-14 module system on the 12Z and 14MZ so chances are the 10C will follow suit.

Honk ... before it becomes offensive.

Comes with a 6014 receiver, so hopefully it will enjoy the same 2.4ghz specs, possibly even the same tm-14 module? No reason why they shouldn't design around it and just output 8+2 channels. I'm sure we'll find out eventually.

Really looks like the 12fg platform, and hopefully processor, minus a couple channels. If so we should finally get a mid-range Futaba radio with good latency stats. Heck even the 2.4ghz 7C fixed most of that so this should be a walk in the park.

I liked the radio at first, than saw that funky looking antenna sitting out in the back. It's just so ugly. Totally looks like a chopped up job.

INTEGRATE YOUR RADIO, and offer one that is plug in like the JR 9303 or 12X. I am sure they have to be losing sales from people like others and myself that want it "all in one package."

Once you go to 2.4 most of us are not going to go back to 72 Mhz....and a newbie definitely does not need the module switch-ability. They are going to go straight to 2.4.

Great price, ugly setup.

And if 900, or 5.8, or whatever comes out in the near future, you would prefer to have to pitch your radio (at a large financial loss) rather than just change modules? Not here . . . . Why can't the "make it integrated crowd" take the time to look FORWARD, and not just back at 72 . . .

And the entry level radios are mostly integrated - just look at the DX6 for instance. I don't think a 10 channel set can be considered "entry level" . . .
