Hi Guys,
Maybe it would be a good idea to set up an topic where we can interchange the configurations for the tail of the AVRO.

I have the GY611 with a Futaba S9256 Digi Tail Servo.

The Avro has a very responsive tail. I have set the travel in the transmitter 100% and will try in flight to increase it to 115% if I feel the need I also have add a small % of deceleration into the gyro settings. The gain I have to start at 90% like the manual says... will see how it reacts in flight.

Could you tell me your opinions?

Best regards,
Dave

Hi Dave,

I've also got a 611/9256 combination.

I've got the travel set to 100%, as you say the tail is very responsive, even at this setting. I haven't adjusted any of the other parameters as of yet, so far thaey all seem to be fine.

As for the gain, 90% sounds very high... Mine is set to 37%, i.e. as shown on the 611's display. At this setting the tails holds perfectly and I don't get any "hunting" in flight.

Hope this helps?

I have just returned from picking mine up and had a good chat with Dave, top bloke

He stated the Avro tail is VERY authoritive and NOT to use full travel or it might strip the main gear. Also they found that Radix 105's work the best

GY611

Add a little Input Output Delay for LH and RH just for safety.

ID 15 and OD 50 will save unwanted loads on the drivetrain.
