Horacio, you were right "I predict a heat sink mod will be in order"

I flew my new Jive 80hv in a mikado 6003d v-bar with an actra 32-3 and 10s packs and it shut down several times due to over heat. I moved the speedo so the heat sink is facing up and getting a little air movement and although it made it 100% better, it still over heats. The speedo limits power as it does when your battery is low but when you land and shut it down, it will not restart.

Any way, Does anyone know of the best place to buy a heat sink and whatever i need to attatch it?

I wish i would have bought the jive 100 just to eliminate this problem.

Any way, it is 10 times better than the hunk of sheet castle hv85

I went through 5 of them and only had one give me 3 successful flights before it died. 4 of them died on the initial spool up.

Sure castle replaced them which each took 3-4 weeks or more.

Never buy a castle part again! Id rather pay double for something that works.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Are you sure it was overheat and not overamping? How many flashes on landing is the led showing? 8 flashes means overload "amp wise" The highest rated Jive for 10S is the 80HV+ the 100 is the LV and is only good to 6S.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		It may have been overloading but i did not check the led flashes.

It started to limit power in some hard airleron tic tocs a couple of times and once i landed and shut down, it would not turn back on so i unpluged the battery, let it cool and went back up.

Moving the speed controller seemed to help so i thought it was heat.

Should i buy the 100 amp speed controller and get it over with?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		if you are 6S or less cell count sure, as mentioned there is no 100 amp Jive 10S controller out there made by Kontronik other then the PowerJazz which is way over that and a big controller to.

Please tell me what you found out as to why they are going bad? Ive worked with castle over numerous phone calls and come up with nothing.

After the 5th speedo i pretty much give up as i would in any situation with any product.
