Hi Guys..

Finally finished and adjusted my new AVRO. Tomorrow I will fly the first time with it so I cant wait!

I must say I was surprised about the quality of the finishing of the helicopter and the materials used. A good girlfriend of mine advices me this helicopter and we bought both one and I enjoyed it from mounting the first part.

The setup is the following:

AVRO 90 • Motor: YS91ST • Servos Brushless Futaba: 1x BLS451 & 3x BLS351 • GY611 • Palas: Radix & NHP 710mm Sport/3D • Tubo de Escape: HATORI 3D • Regulator Reactor XS Scott Gray • 4300mA 7.4 volt flat cell Duralite Li-ion RX pack • Receptor G3 • FUTABA 14MZ •

This will be the next 3D Master champion helicopter… lets see what Blitz does this year on the 3D Masters.

Hope you will like my design and see if we can go and improve things over time!

I would treat it as any other 1st flight. Check, then double check everything. Make sure tail and gyro sense is correct. Good range check. Gentle spool up and check all's well before lift off. When it's hovering check blade tracking, then slowly get a feel for it and let everything bed in nicely before givving it some stick

The main thing is to stay relaxed and enjoy it

Easy to say, not so easy to do on the day

If your confident that you have built it right and are happy with the settings, then I'm sure all will be good

Hi Salazar.. They are the new brushless servos from Futaba and I must say they are functioning very well! I am very satisfied with them.

The only thing is the price of the BLS351 here in europe its around € 130,-- each.

Hi Climax... Yours is really looking good!!

Have one question... on Page 53 of the manual where it explains the mounting of the servo you see that the plastic things needs to be put on the servos from above and fix it with epoxy.

Know I have seen the one of a good girlfriend of mine and she has then mounted from below. This way the servo output horns go completly to the end of the servo mount.

Can anybody me advice me which is the good way to do it or doesnt it matter?

Will place later some drawings and pictures.

Hi Dave,

Well, looking at my Avro I have positioned the eccentric cams as shown in the manual.

This has been working well now for months without any issues, so it certainly won't cause you any problems if you also do it this way.

It's interesting that the photo you posted shows a slightly different arrangement. I'll double check with Blitz and let you know what they say. I imagine that the manual is correct as I know a lot of effort when into producing it.
