another mod, well sort of!

I cut about 3-4mm off the back of the main blades(straight cut) brings headspeed up and the motor seems to run cooler. Make sure to balance the blades for vibration free flying.

I found a great tool for cutting blades,,,,a paper cutter! It cuts the blades exactly the same.

That one is the same size as DF4, its big compared to the 4#3.

I think you refer to the 4#3A/B?

Extra motor

Does anyone know if adding an extra motor wired in parallel to the existing motor would cause a problem. I have my little Walkera 4#3 but the motor is terrible and wears out the brushes due to over heating very quickly. Even with a heat sink attached. However using two motors slightly rearranged with a small bit of drilling would solve this problem. Doe anyone see and problems with doing this. Thanx

Option is to go brushless, using a Feigao smallest one in the line of IPS size motors, or the Losi motors, 2 cell, sepate components.
YOU can also try using the MIA Moto-Cool-er heat sinks if you want to stay 1 cell stock motor.

Parallel motor

I can defiantly see the big advantage of converting to brushless but it seems complicated and expensive having to buy extra circuit boards etc. Also the heli runs on a single cell which means another battery. I didnt want to risk using two in parallel incase of burning out the receiver due to a increased current. I mentioned about i guess this should be ok.

You can run a brushless on the single cell. Check out rcgroups they have a long thread about the brushless conversion.
