2low, you will love it, i did the same as you.
I thought i had it mastered with the coax, then out comes the 4#3 (various versions) it was like learning all over again. I can fly it very well all in the house but it is much more of a challange.
Set the ext pot to 50% (flat piece at 12oclock) it give good balance of being responsive but also stable.

4-3b ordered
I just ordered a 4-3b from WOW hobbies last night. Cant wait to try out this little bugger. Iv bought so many counter rotating helies to fly in the winter just to sell them after a few days because of it being so boring.
And if you start getting bored with the 4-3b well..... you can make it a scale project... check out Darthdrk Micro Fuselages

Either way you'll love it!

Thanks, it looks like a real cool little heli. How many flights can you expect to get out of the stock tail motor and does the MIA g10 frame make a difference?

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

Tail motor lasts longer than the main motor (if you don't break the wires), over 100 flights i would think, really depends, sometimes it last ages, sometimes not so long

If you didn't order any extra motors, I would suggest getting a couple of each. As for the MIA G10 being different... it is a longer boom is one main difference, but the 4-3b is great out of the box and I hear that WOW tests all their products first... so you should be good to go. If however; you do get bored a MIA conversion is a fun project too!

Just received my new little heli and all I can say is wow. Alot more stable than I thought and like everyone said very addictive. Walkera has had some bad press in the past but this thing is a winner as far as I am concerned. More batteries will be needed for sure.

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

What model are you planning to buy the 4-3b? if so, Wowhobbies charges a $16 shipping and handling charge per helicopter so, they are still $135 shipped.

I have been looking through here and at rcgroup and some of you have trimmed your main blades to get a higher head speed. I have done the brushless conversion but am having some problems with the tail authority now. How are you guys trimming the trailing edge of the blades so they are both exactly the same? I have not found a good description of this. If I have missed something can someone please point me in the right direction.

If you did brushless you need the longer boom, rcgroups has details or otherwise use the 4#3B tail rotor as its longer.

OK, thanks. So if I have a brushless main motor and a stock tail motor I just need to extend the tail?

OK, I have a problem I need some help with please. I have the Xcelorin 10250KV BL and a TheSteve converter and an Ebay ESC running on the stock battery. Well my Ebay ESC does not start the motor correctly and TheSteve over at the RCGroup said to put a resistor in parallel with a certain resistor on the ESC to solve the problem. He gave instructions and I did it. The problem is the resistors are the size of a grain of sand and the process is much easier said then done. Anyway, I need a new ESC to run my setup. If anyone has a ESC that will run my setup and is interested in selling it to my please PM me. Or if you know were I can buy a proven to work ESC. Thank You

4#3B Balance Bar... CF vs Steel?

Hard crash yesterday put a nice little kink in my balance bar that I can't straighten out. Looks like a new one is in order...

WowHobbies (and others) sell two kinds... a Carbon Fiber one and a light steel one.

Which is better? Advantages / Disadvantages of each?

CF breaks very easy, the Metal one is great, i use a main centre shaft from 5#6 or 5G6 and cut it too length, its perfect size and is the type of metal that when bent it will return its shape (to a certain limit of course).

Be sure to grind/file some flats on the metal flybar if you make one so the screws will have something to bite on. Easier to just buy one for the 4#3B.

Try not. Do or do not. There is no try
