I don't know the exact number, but there are plenty, no worries there.

Will the contests be held on the pads at the south end of the field thereby allowing uninterrupted flight time on the main runway?

Yes, and yes. There will be open flying all day, with the exception of the field being shutdown for about an hour for the noon time demos.
