i redesigned the tail slider (as im a CNC machinist) and has now been in service for over 30 flights and verry well indeed , see pics , the specs of the new slider are as follows
Align ally slide collar is 5mm ID 6mm Od , my new one is high tensile 4140 5mm Id and 7mm Od for greater wall thickness , and the new bearing housing houses 2X 11x7x3mm bearings with a ball from a 600 swash so it has a M3 insted of the standard M2 and their is a flange that in the unlikley event of TOTAL bearing failure the housing with the ball will ONLY flog back and fourth 1mm so it will still be landable , my self and my mate with a 700E Aerial photogrophay chopper are running my new slider and no dramas , ALOT of piece of mind , i NEVER want this to happen to ANYONE
