IMO they will keep oil out,and will keep it from getting scratched,But when it come down to it,I doubt it would protect it in a crash.

I think theyre possibly a bit too expensive for what they are, however I have used them to tidy up radio installation.

turtle skinz

After I get my 401 gyros set,I just put a piece of scotch tape over the top of the gyro and a 1/4 of inch longer folded back on to itself so it peels back if a adjustment would be needed I have helis with 200+ flights still looks ok.
