I'm thinking of a red and something for mine... Since heliartis came out with the Breitling paint (yellow and blue) on the 500 bodies I have become tired of the paint scheme as everyone has it now...

I know, That's why I'm making the back half yellow. I have a problem of form over function when it comes to paint jobs I'll just have to keep it a little closer when flying

IT'S HEEERE!!!!!!

Alright I just got home from a job and guess what was waiting for me? My Darth Hughes 500E fuse!! I'm going to put up pics later tonight and start the build tomorrow. From first looks there will be a lot of cutting but I like the overall look and quality of the kit. Oh yeah the wife was nice enough to let me open my HBK early so I could do the fitting The only condition was that I can't fly it until Christmas. On to the build The fuse comes in 6 pieces. 2 halves for the front, 2 for the main body, and 2 for the tail. The tail appears to screw onto the main body and I'm going to use magnets to hold the front to make changing batts easy.

I think you will find that magnets won't hold the front on a 500 due to the angle it sits at... I could be wrong as you might have a different plan than I did but I didn't feel I could trust them in flight or during a hard landing....

Yeah, now that you mention it I'm seeing what you mean Slider. Well I'll just have to use screws instead.

I was thinking either velcro or like I did on my Breitling fuse I use 2 cf pins (broken boom supports from a blade cp) Push them in, pull them out...

You will have to make an ofset tab on the inside of the back half of the body. and a small piece on the canopy, when you get it positioned where you want it push on the velcro and go fly.... I find screws a pain in the a$$ to see when I want to mount the canopy... The pins are hard to get lined up but still way easier than 4 screws....

There is already a 1/2" offset tab molded on the back part of the fuse. Tryan if you are talking about the rare earth magnets I put one on a light pole once and it took 2 of us to get it back off.
