I am just getting my Raptor V1 back in the air. I just mounted the 401 to night. I am all set to go now. I just need to get the testicular fortitude up enough to fly it again. I was able to do stall turns, loops, rolls, flips, and have a good time. I am looking forward to getting back there.

I still have the OS 32SH-X in my V2 right now for the super long flight times. From what I hear, the OS 37 cuts flight times to 10-15 minutes. Long flight times and relaxed flying is the reason why I built the 30 to begin with.

I gotta tell ya, the glowing reports I've heard of the 37 in the little 30 are really tempting me though. Who knows, the NIB OS 37 in that pic may find it's way into another V2...

Can I install a 30 sized engine on my Titan 50?

what components need to be changed?

My goal is to have long flight time with basic aerobatic performance.. for eg.. inverted flights, flips, funnels, loops & rolls.. and nothing more..

I have a redline engine, great power house but short flight time, I am planning to build another machine to improve my precision flying skills.

what do you think?

A 30 can be very aerobatic with a good pilot. It's all about collective management. This is Steve Campbell flying a V2 with a TT39 engine.

I can get up to 30 minutes of runtime with my 30V2 with an OS32.

Absolutely. That's actually the whole reason I built the heli in the first place. I kept hearing about these R30 pilots getting 20-30min flights with their OS32 powered birds and got jealous. All my Titan can muster is 8-10min flights. The 30V2 has the same size fuel tank as the Titan. Considering the 30 is lighter and runs a .32 engines versus a .50 (and accompanying higher headspeed) and you get MUCH longer flight times.

Just installed the brand new OS37 I had on hand in the 30V2. Also picked up an MP2 for it. Can't wait to see what kind of power this combo makes (I run CP30).

I'm going to pick up another R30 and run the OS32 in it. I hear the OS37 is much more thirsty than the OS32. Can't go without having a bird that gives me 30 minute flights!

Just came in from running the first tank of fuel through the new OS37/MP2. All I can say is, wow!!! I am stunned at the amount of power this combo produces! Right now I have it running rediculously rich for break-in. Head temp after hovering for about 5 or so minutes at a time was only 105*f. It's pouring fuel out of the pipe but it's still making MUCH more power than the OS32 did when it was tuned for power. I can't wait until I see what she can do after break-in is over and I start leaning her out!

What are your needle settings to get 30 mins??

I have a Raptor 30V2 with an OS32 and I can barely get 20 and that is even with a couple autos and getting into the header tank If I am flying it around normally, I can't get more than 15. What kind of flying are you doing? Circuits? just hovering? Low headspeed? Are you timing these 30 min flights or is that just a guess?

Flying circuits, figure 8's, very mild aerobatics (stall turns, etc). General goofing off. I wouldn't attempt any more than that with the OS32. There just isn't enough power.

2 1/4 turns out on the high needle with the Maverikk muffler. Probably a 1/4 turn richer than factory on the low setting. Surprisingly leaner with the MP2. Those are the current settings on the OS32. Keep in mind that's a bit richer than it would be during the summer months which is when I get 30 minute flights. Obviously those times are a bit shorter in the winter due to richer needle settings. I also run headspeed on the low side. I hear guys running 1950rpm on the head with the OS32 getting 15-20 minute flights. My headspeed is a couple hundred rpm lower. Makes a big difference in flight times.
