I have had the MIP, Losi, and the Hudy, and I find the quality of the Hudy superior to anything out there.

I'm not sure what the rage is with the Hudy stuff. I find the knurled handles uncomfortable.

The less expensive Hudy range does not have knurled handles, they have smooth plastic ones.

If you are flying an Align 450 I would suggest you get the Align hex drivers. They fit the small hex screws on the trex 450 the best.

PB Swiss

I have the Hudy and the PB Swiss...

the PB bits are very special, with a gas deposited anti rust
coating, and are held to very tight tolerances.

They are the finest I have yet encountered.

Steeltoes,

I am the same as you. If you check my gallery you will see the box I set up to store my tools. I vote for MIP Thorp hex drivers. They are excellent. Due to lack of time and funds I took my good old time saving and since I couldnt fly at all (still working on getting everything I need) I spent my time working on house projects and collecting tools.

Old post, but a good one, so we'll keep it going...
I used to race cars, but they didn't cost enough, so I'm getting into Heli's...
I have the Integy set. Love them. I have a set in my tool case for my daily job and use them all the time. Drill bit blanks are used to make the hex drivers. At about $25-$30 for a set of 6, they're one of the best deals going. They do not have the diamond gnurling that the Hudy/Losi, etc ones have. At first, I didn't like that fact... after a LOT of use, I don't think it's a bad thing. Without the gnurling, you can't put too much torque on a screw. You can shear the head off of a smaller allen head with the gnurled handles. I've not done with with these. Kind of a 'just in case' thing.
If price is no object, Hudy is definitely sweet!! Nice to have all matching nut drivers and such.

Good hex drivers ???

I wont go into all the different makes Thorp are probably rated the best, maverick is kinda in the middle, a overall good tool. You cant really grip them to hard because of there size and smooth knurl handles, which is good for the newer modelers as they will not have a tendency to strip or overtighten bolts and allens which is sometimes the case.I use Mavericks and Blue lock tite where needed with great results and for the money I think they will work great for you,Heliproz is where I buy them, keep a set in my Plank Box and Heli Box hope this helps someone.
