That's because I've never mastered the dam thing! LOL and I like to buy a new heli once I can say I've out flown the current one, which has never been true with the Hornet, so I'm stuck on them  .
In my opinion the stock X-3D built correctly with the standard recommended electronics and with the correct Tx numbers dialled in, fly's and performs way better than the stock CP2/BladeCP stuff. It's not a fair comparison, especially given the motorised tail differences but an X-3D fly's like you only wish your stock CP2/BladeCP ever could  . You'd be better off with a 600mm ~500g KingV2, at least it has a CP tail even if it is a bit soft at low RPM. Though the Hornet's initial electronics cost more and it is more fragile, more agile and less stable. If you can fly confidently then give it a whirl otherwise the Hornet can frustrate. After hovering and mild FF those other micro's don't compare unless you dump cash into 2 brushless ESCs and motors (one for the tail) plus the effort to tune such a setup (which isn't easy) and even then I think the X-3D is a better package in the air as stock.
Just depends what you want in a micro... they all have their little niggles. |
