Starting to think about getting into a 90. I am planning on getting a stratus. I would like to know what i should put in it (ie: engine, servos, etc..) Everyone who owns one, could you please list your setups for me? Also any advice would be nice too. Oh and which gear ratio. And lets see pics of your heli.

Thanks for the info so far guys. Its really helping. One more question. I see that the stock fuel tank is ugly, its the only thing i don't like about the stratus. Some people have put different tanks in. Which one are they using.

This was new a couple of month ago.

Before people was using the fury tank (the fury tank has the cap on the left side)

Also, about the new tank...is it included in new kits or do you have to buy it extra?

Yes the new tank is inclueded in the new Stratus kits.
Just remember to seal the cap, as described on MA homepage:

The opentail with the new steel/plastic gear is also in the new kits.
The newerst kit also have the newest sideframes (no bellcrank for the tailservo, tail servo moved backwards, throttle servo raised)

Ask the store, where you want to buy it, how old his kits are, and it the above things are updated in his kit.

Okay great! Thanks for the info. I noticed at IRCHA that Bobby Watts' stratus had a tail mounted servo, So is that the new frames? It also seemed to have some braces up front...

Lets say I ended up with a kit with original tank...what is the advantage of the new one besides more fuel?

Stratus Setup Suggestion....

Well, when you get sick of an underpowered 90 sized bird maybe you should consider converting it to electric like I did

(Of courseI'm just kidding)

But really...here's my electric setup...

I noticed at IRCHA that Bobby Watts' stratus had a tail mounted servo, So is that the new frames?

On "old frames" the tail servo was also placed behind the main shaft,
but there was a bellcrank between the servo and the tail.
That bellcrank is know gone, and the servo is moved backwards and higher up.

And now there is a threadhole behind the tailclamps to secure the tail.

Do the stratus fans come with holes predrilled for governor magnets? If not, how do you guys do it?

If anyone has a cranklock tool that fits their OS engine, what is the dimension of the width of the slot that fits over the crankrod? I have a lock but I'm not sure the slot in it is wide enough.
