If doesn't matter if it is a 6 cell or a 4 cell battery the discharge capability will be the same and the performance at 25C sustained is more than adaquate for most flying. The difference is that you can draw out the full C rating of these batteries without damage. They were also cheaper than FP's for the ones that I got.

Well I have 4 flights out of both of my packs. So far they are always around 19-20v and I put back on average 4700mah. The average imbalance has been right at .189 between the highest and lowest cells. Im getting 8 minutes average flight time.

Im loving these packs.

Air Thunder--THE Honest Brand You Can Trust

Quote
Recently, one of our competitors has been spreading untrue rumor about us, claiming they manufacture our packs and implying we have inferior products. AirThunder hereby dispute any such claims. This particular company is merely a distributor. We do not buy products from them, and they do not own the technology. This particular company is using deceiving business practice and misrepresents themselves as the manufacturer in an attempt to gain unfair advantage against us. We urge consumers and dealers/distributors to practice extreme caution when dealing with an unethical business entity such as them.

If anyone has written proof otherwise, scan and post in on here. I don't think we'll see it though because you know everything Air Thunder is saying is TRUE.

i suspect it was a poorly worded post
not everyone speaks or types perfect english (even me)

fact airthunder buys from the same place kong power buys from
fact kong power is a minor share holder in that company
fact that would mean kong power would get a dividend off air thunder purchases

so in a round about way air thunder does buy off kong power
the poster who started all this (whom i dont even know) may have tried to convey that in english without much success

now can we stop seeing who can wee the highest and talk about the batteries ?

Im loving these packs. So who is charging these at 3c I have one of the 6cell 5000mah packs. I just called Airthunder and asked if this was true and if it would have any bad effects on the packs. They said it should be fine. I plan on trying charging at 2c next time and work my way up from there. Im not for sure if my TP1010 can do 15 amps.

So what are you guys charging your packs at and if anyone knows what can the tp 1010/210 combo do?

I have 2 of the 6cell 5000mah packs I get 8 min of flight on average and put back around 4500-4700 mah and the lowest pack voltage has been 19V.

even the wires that you use from your power supply to you charger are relevant here
if you attempt to draw more amps than the wires can handle, your charger will come up with an error

dont quote me but im pretty sure that 6's 5000mh at 1c is actually 10amps, because 6's doubles the actual draw
now i said im pretty sure, if im wrong please correct me so i can go on living knowing im not full of sh%t

If you are meaning that the charger supply current will be roughly double the battery charge current then yes as the battery voltage is almost twice the supplied voltage. The battery charge current at 1C is always the battery capacity regardless of the number of cells.

yup thats what i meant but you have explained it better than me

i mentioned it because it can get a little confusing trying to figure out why you keep getting an error, when you are charging a 6's 5000mah at 2c which is 10amps on the charger but 20amps draw on the supply and the wires are only rated to 10amps or something like that.

good info guys. I have a 30amp power supply so I should be good for 2c on that end. I will find out the other stuff latter tonight. Tuesday is flying day at the field for me so I will have to charge my packs after I get done flying.

look forward to trying 2c on my first pack I might try 3c on the second pack and see if I get an error. If so I will just drop it down to 2.5c then back down to 2c if it keeps giving errors.

Heck if I can get these packs to charge in 45min instead of 1hr and 10min thats a good time savings.

Thanks.

A TP1010 is rated 210watt output, thats as much as it can put out.
Fully charged a 6s pack will be 25.2volt.

210 watt / 25.2 volt = 8.33 amp which is the max you can charge with it.

If you input 12 volt you need: 19.25 amps give or take to drive it at max.

(210 watt + 10% loss / 12 volt)
