Long story short, we all prefer the knight. Go ask them, and they all prefer the Rex. But I bet you knew that, lol.

You know, if you go to the thunder tiger forum you will inevitably see a post titled... Raptor 50 or 600n? And at the Hirobo forum a Evo 50 or 600n? and at the Audacity forum Pantera or 600n? and so on and so on... Point being, to each his own, and as long as the choice was a Knight 50, the right choice was made!!

The 600N frame is also very soft and thin. Like I've said before, it may be different for other pilots, but the knight just "feels" like an old friend to me in the air from the first time I flew it. I have flown all but the razor and prefer the Knight to any of them. I am a very happy toy helicopter pilot. I like wrenching on the heli's almost as much as flying and the knight is a pleasure to work on, I was skeptical at first with the G-10 frameset, but I have replaced a frame side in about 25 minutes and that was my first and only frame repair. About the same as the last raptor frame side I replaced and that was probably the 20th one. So that relaxed my concern about "wrenchability" of the knight.

I have the standard 600N and the frames are weak. If they had frames like the Knight 3D, I think they would be stronger.

The 600N Sport flies somewhat better than the Knight 50 Sport, but not all that much. It feels lighter and more agile. It [600N] is a little easier to work on, IMHO, and fits better in my trunk When I get a Knight 3D (when they ship with the new canopy), I might be able to say something relevant to this thread

for the price of a knight 50 sport to perform close to the price of a 600N is already a big big difference.
n808- u'll be very please with the knight 3D and it's new canopy
Happy flying

Thanks! I was very happy with my K50 Sport until its abrupt ending, so I am looking forward to a K3D to fly along with my Trex 600N Sport.

I had both. I decided to keep my 600n's to standardize on one airframe. I regret that decision. The Knight 3D flies better than the 600n. The frames are much stiffer and stronger. The 600n frames by comparison is much weaker. Align sacrified strength for weight. Look at the 3D frame and it's got stiffeners all over the place. With the 600n you can literally twist the frame. Let's not forget about those whose frames are starting to change color from the nitro and oil. Then look at the crash damage. I don't recall any other heli out there that takes out electronics like this one. I get yelled at all the time by the folks on the Align forum but if my crashes are going to be in the $500+ range I fly my Avant.

The only thing Align has going for them is the sheer volume they can produce. This was one of my biggest grips about the Knight. Summer is half over and we still can't easily pick up one of the new canopies. I hope Compass is paying attention. Not only is the 600n plastic canopy much better quality than the standard Compass one but it looks better as well. I still think the Knight is a better heli but Compass is a smaller company and it seems Align has much deeper pockets.

Knight 3D

I do not want to bash anybody’s helicopter so I will just say that I prefer the 3D... That’s why I try to post on the Compass section

I feel that the engineers at compass have some very interesting ideas that make sense and seem to work well. The 3D came out in March and there have been few if any reported problems with the helicopter. It just seems to work, and work well...

true. align is a big big company that can pay big money to alan and jason for the marketing. ask anyone and i bet most will know trex nowadays but not knight what more to say compass. compass must really work harder on their marketing since more and more people are getting to know the quality and performance the knight can give

the new fibre canopy and the full carbon frame set is out. but i have yet to see the new design canopy in plastic form.
GScott- i guess ur lhs is already getting their or soon enough. u'll be very happy then

I agree. Compass needs more marketing at least in the US.
I have not seen a single add for the 3D on this site. Or anywhere for that matter. mta hobbies were the only ones buying adds for these products but it does not seem they will be doing compass for much longer since they don't even carry the 3d.
Marketing can kill or make the company. Also availability of products. If you take too long to provide what your costumers want. Many times costumers go elsewhere. Look at Century you cant even give away their helis.

Hey ww_liam, what are the carbon 3D frames like? Are they worth the upgrade?

3D or 600N

I have both and I would say 600N is slighly more agile and you get more collective punch.

If you have ever flown a 600E and you will see what I mean.

However, 3D is stronger and will survive better in a crash, everything being equal, except that if you land very hard on the landing struct, it is likley that the main frame will crack for both heli.

It is a hobby and fly wahtever makes you happy. I do not fly R50 anymore purely because it is old and ugly. But hey, it flies well and so bleeding easy and cheap to fix!!

Phelipcopter: I find it hard to agree with your comments as I've flown both and find the 3D much more responsive around mid stick and therefore more punchy. You can get more pitch on the 600N (+/- 14), but it's not that usable and the engine bogs much easier. However it could be differences in setups.

A friend of mine at our club sold his 600N in favour of the Knight 3D. He's an aircraft engineer and sets his helis up maticulously, plus he likes them aggressive.

The 600N is a lovely heli, but the Knight 3D is ....... flies better IMHO. Unfortunately the canopy lets it down and I cannot wait for the new one to arrive.

Compass is also going to be releasing a pre painted fiberglass canopy as well as a plastic version of the new 3d canopy. I know they are very hard at work on increasing the production of these canopies, so please sit tight, I know how hard it can be, but at least you have the heli right?
