Use the timer to shoot the picture automatically after a delay -- in other words, don't press the button as that shakes the camera.
Put a bright light on the object you want to take a picture of, and/or use a night setting for the camera to expose the object more.
If equipped, set it for close up pictures (usually a picture of a flower on the button or setting).
