I tried it with the G2 box as a joystick but couldn't get it to work on the throttle or rudder only on elevator and aileron and I couldn't calibrate them either so I couldn't even fly the glider.
If you need to build something different then people can't try it to see if they like it.
I used FMS with the G2 controls and it worked fine.

Interface

I tried the interface I made my self from plans I found at http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/hobby/fsc.htm
Seems to be working ok although I've only tried it just a couple of times.
Question, how can start another flight without having to close down the program and restart it? I'm sure there is a button somewhere that lets you re-start a flight from the beginning but I couldn't find one.
Thanks!
Myles

Madmax,

Did you have it in 24bits.. as preflight doesn like 24bits colours.. it prefer 16 or 32 bits...

Cheers,
Hanibaal.

Thanks Kermit,

Maybe it doesn't like 32bit as well.. I believe some people managed to use it in 32 bis but it is usually very slow any way...
it is recommanded not to use it.. 16bits is the way to go!!

Hanibaal.

Doug, they give the heli controlls different names. So you get:

Rudder, 4
Elevator, 2
Aileron, 1
Throttle, 3
Tail, 4
Nick, 2
Roll, 1
Pitch, 3

Control is the "Joystick Interface"

hope this helps.

Doug where is website for FMS?. Maybe I can get that to work with my realflight cord and my radio. The preflight I cant get to work. I did send my RFD disk back to Hobby Servises and they are replacing it with new one. They said even if your dog eats it[you do need most of the peices] they will replace it.

I have receive some email about people interested in more modals, to my knowledge in the current time, there isn't so much yet.. but I am aware of the author is building this tool that simplify making modals...

I had an early sneak at the tool (might be ready in few weeks...).
and it looks very good... and I am sure some creative people out there would love it, and it should help build a large number of plans an helicopters.

also, he is making some fixes, which would be avaible soon...

I got it downloaded, installed and started it up. It ran, although I could not get the joystick to work. Then I closed it and tried to open it again later and it came up with a direct3d error and something about not enough memory. So I restarted, same error. I uninstalled reinstalled, same error. I uninstalled restarted reinstalled, same error. It aint my video card because I have a geforce 2 and I am not running out of RAM because I have 512 mb..

ry_goody,

We are experiencing a lot of problem with DirectX 8 ( I am assuming dx8 is installed on your comp, otherwise the probelm is only that...)and not the software... please make sure you have the latest drivers for your card (that is capatible with dx8).

if you do that .. then according to microsoft, you need to reinstall dx8 again.

Preflight simulation doen't work with 24bit or 32bit colours.. so, make sure it is set to 16bit...
Good luck!!!
Please let us know how are you going... if you still have more problem please email the author "mailto:ttransce@bigpond.net.au"

Cheers,
Hanibaal.
