I have been flying this machine for over a year and the only thing that I have seen is the pins in the slide block and come out if they are not in tight enough. I have never had a crash but all of a sudden the steering is goofy. Now I use a thin coat of CA and press the pin in to the block and it has never come out again.

Caliber 450V

The slide block is the platic piece that is on the main shaft just above the swash plate. It has the two metal pins that keep the swash plate "in phase" (aligned properly). You just can't tighten the set screw that holds it in place real good since the part is plastic. I really can't explain what causes it to rotate during flight and come out of phase but I've had it happen several times. The new metal slide block will allow the set screw to really be tightened down preventing it from rotating.

Caliber 450V

I think my slide block is just stripped where the set screw goes in. In general, I don't like plastic parts with metal screws anyway. I really don't understand how it turned anyway and it took me a while to figure out what was going on. But during flight I'd just loose complete control, crash, rebuild, and then it would randomly happen again. Finally, after loosing control I was able to land without crashing and after inspection noticed the swashlate was out of phase since the slide block had rotated.

BTW...Thanks for your Caliber 700 posts. I've got one too and you helped me at one point. Its a great machine. I'm pretty new at heli's and to runryder so still have a lot to learn.
