Hi i just noticed this today was just hovering my heli down the park and noticed every time my heli gets hot (sceadu 30 irvine 36 engine) it would lose power. now i am sure the far is working but seem's not very good . i have orderd the duct thing that goes under the heli to make it cooler but would i also need a quick uk fan to? it has done this for ages now and i just thought that it wasent rich enough or was to rich and it still woulden't help. So please if any 1 can help me let me know asap please

thank you, kevin

If you are sure it's not too lean, ie good smoke, make sure your head speed is up around 1700 or so. What blades/fuel/plug etc are you running?

how do i check the head speed? also i am using a O.S. 8 glow plug 5 % cool power fuel yes enough smoke and nope not to lean cause it would hover just perfect untill the engine warms up then i lost power and if i give it any more throttle it neally cuts out and u can hear it any way losing speed.

thanks, kevin

Overheating is very common with the Sceadu 30s. A guy at our club has the fan duct extension, and a Quick UK fan and is still overheating. Maybe you could try high nitro fuel so you can run that bit richer.

At idle turn the small idle screw out till she is about to die . Try lifting her to hover . If it seem like it is too rich to lift to hover ajust the main in two clicks and try again . I use a set of head loaders I made to set up the carb so you don't have to put her in the air .Ajust together till it runs perfect at all ranges ,slightly on the rich side . the idle screw seems to control the mixture to half throttle . All carbs ajust differently so go by how she runs .

Hi,
If you compare the Sceadu to other 30 size heli like Caliber or Venture, you will find that Sceadu is a lot more heavy.
I think I have read somewhere that Hirobo engineers design the Sceadu as a 50 size heli and 30 size is an after thought.
I have replaced the OS 32 with a powerful Webra 52.

Hi Tonsrepair,
Not yet. I don't have a digital camera.
Will send you one one I have the pic.
It's not ugly but it definitely sounds louder than the Hatori muffler that my flying buddy is using.
