I'm using 68mm robbe hard plastic blades---are those the eolo blades? Anyway, with those blades hard backwards and sideways flying is solid as are rippers (knife edge falling pirouettes) and other tail heavy tricks.

What is your head speed. Mine became much better when I got the 23 tooth pinion. I think I am at 3000 approx.

Can you pull 10 minutes of FF on the 3700 4S Hyperion pack ?

How about those tail blades are the S5070 what you have and not happy with ?

Anyone know of a taller landing gear replacement for the leppy ?

It's 6 minutes of 3D flying on that setup
Maybe 7 for more mild stuff
But certainly not 10 minutes in idle up FFF

The 68mm tail blades from ReadyHeli hold great

Hung's problem (other than being a druggie - chemist)
was that he gyro gain was too low
and the elevator grub screw was loose
He's happy now and ripping the air up

Thanks for the info,

I just ordered a JR Venture 30 landing gear and the 68mm S5070 see if I can mess with the landing gear to modify it for the lepton.

Speaking of 10 min, is there any battery combo that can bring the lepton to 10 min of mild stuff?

:-)

I'm not aware of any flight setup over about 7.5 mins

You could reduce the headspeed
but the ESC may get hot
and the engine will not be in the efficient zone
and the tail wont be great I imagine
Can see 10 minutes being viable

What do you guys think of the 3DX500 or CNC500 the lepton clone ?
Seems to have more metal on it in the normal kit. As of the flight characteristics it might even fly the same since they seem to be identical.

Good thing the tail shaft, main shaft all the rest of the parts seem to be much cheaper than the Lepton original stuff. I will order a bunch of spares and see how they perform. Hope I don't have to do it any time soon LOL.

Essence25, be careful because I ordered a few 3DX500 parts and found that not all fit the Lepton like advertised. Some are a different size and the quality is not even close to Hirobo.

Cheers

Hung, what gain are you running with a 401.

I have a Kora 15-14 in mine. Almost fully built... might take it to coffs and compare??

Blik,

Can you give me more details as of which parts did not work for you ??

I'm especially interested in the main shaft, tail shaft, flybar and spindle shaft.

Let me know before I actually buy.

thanks

I'm still working on mine too. Already at 43%, with Robbe Eolo tail blades. I only have 9650 though, but I think I would be able to make it work, if not, then I will get me a 9254. I will try to tweak it a little bit more before I give up on 9650. It's just that, I was able to make it work, rock solid on QJ8, that's why I'm hard pressed to tweak this servo. It's almost there. I just have to get rid of the tiny "jerking motion" during punch outs......

9650/ GY401 Continual Hunting

I have been unable to eliminate hunting with this combination. All gyro gain levels produce some sort of hunting. Just gets faster the more gain. There is no slop in system and I am running hyperion carbon blades. Any thoughts?

I have this same combination on a Trex and have no problems. The only difference is I am running the Gyro on 6V on the Lepton. The instructions state this is acceptable and I don't think it is the problem.

I have a feeling that I am going to be told to get a 9254. Which I am sure would help tail hold in demanding maneuvers but a 9650 should do just fine in a hover!
