I have a v2 but have never been able to get it to fly. After about ten seconds hovering, the tail just lets loose. The gears are not loose on the rod and they all mesh. I tried it without the the gyro (csm 560) but it was the same. Has anyone heard of this happening? I would like to get it flying, but if I have to I will dump it and use the gear on something else if I can find something else that flys ok and is not a nightmare to build, set up and maintain.
Thanks.
Bob

On a Hornet, which tail is this?
If so, which gear is slipping?

It is the standard tail. I can't make the gears slip with any normal pressure by hand, so I don't know if they are slipping. It just starts pirouetting after about 10 seconds.

Is your gyro working right? Maybe it's not setup right

If you don't use a gyro on the small heli's the tail spins like crazy. I tried to fly one time without a gyro and it didn't end up too good

I tried to fly it without the gyro and it did the same thing. Hover for about 5 or 10 seconds then start pirouetting.
The tail gear is right up against the main gear as well. I just can't see why this is happening. You can make the gears skip but it takes a lot of force and I don't think there is that much force generated by the tail rotor.
I have a 401 gyro in another heli that I think I will try in this. You never know what might work.

Your gyro may be bad. Try the 401 and see how it goes

OK thanks. I have to put a few bits back on it anyway. What head speed should I have on it?
