I quite like the DX7 ,even though my 9Z had tons more features.
Things i didn't/don't like.

The Rudder D/R is the same as the default thr-hold switch location (top right). The only way to get a rudder reduced rate (in heli mode)is to use the auto D/R flight mode setup and use say St-1 for reduced rudder,or choose another thr hold switch location other than the top right

The individual flight mode cyclic trims are on the surface a good idea,
but there is no option to commonly combine them through the flight modes like in the 9Z.
If you make changes to the cyclic trims you have to, either trim all the flight modes seperately, or go into the servo graph display and make them all match

The throttle trim is disabled in throttle hold. This is fine if your idle is at the half trim point ,but if it's much higher you have to add extra throttle % in the thr hold menu or the idle drops lower/engine stops in thr hold.

I hope a DX9 or whatever it'll be won't have those limitations

OH please make a dx9 from a 9303...

just swap places with the power switch and the hook for the neck strap and a throttle cut button would be nice.

Here is a few cents....More adaptability to the existing switches.

Throttle Cut
Combined Trims for all modes
Another Channel To Change Gov settings on, off etc
Relocate harness catch lower

Most valuable features for me.....

......would be:

Improved eccpm control like the DX7 and 14mz that send all three servo commands in the same packet.
Can Spektrum transmit 2048 resolution? I hear brushless servos are coming, so improved resolution should be noticable.
Dedicated governor screen like the 9303.
Common trim settings in all flight modes.
Some indicator that the collective stick is at center, even this was only a beep during bench set up in the pitch/throttle curve menus. This could be similar to the digital trim position audible indicator (blip, Blip, BLip, BLIp, BLIP, BEEEP, BLIp, BLip, Blip, blip).
Electronic cyclic ring.
USB connection to store and modify programming and model names. I hate entering model names using the scroller on the transmitter.

Major Gripe so far: Make the transmitter available the way we want it, like the flex option for JR gear. Sell it Tx only, Tx and AR7000, Tx and AR9000, Tx and AR6100, Tx and rx w/ cheap servos, Tx and rx w/ top shelf servos. I found it rather offensive that the DX7 was only available with the servos that most ended up giving away just to get rid of them.

any idea how long until the receiver extensions will be available, that would be about the only thing i would ever ask for, as for all the bells and whistles on my 10x i havent missed any of them yet. computer radios do not replace proper mechanical set up.

assignable switches to any function/mix, and definetly some sort of slider or knob ( slider is much prefered). and more channels, 9 at the mix, but 10+ is the way to go.

Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

It would be nice if receivers could handle a 7.4V lipo pack.

The AR6100 specs state 3.5v-9v input range - I haven't seen AR7000 voltage specs.

They already can handle a 2S lipo receiver pack. The max receiver input voltage is 10V.

I run my JR Z9000s cyclic servos directly also. I just use a regulator for the Gyro.

I think it would be cool if the receiver had a high-current battery connector.

Something different from just a servo connector. When we plug in a bunch of digital servos, one of those tiny connectors becomes a power bottleneck.

I know this part would never happen, but it would be cool if said power connection was one of the popular power connectors we already use in the hobby.

Excelent idea. Maybe it could be equiped with deans micro plugs, or just a cable extruding from the rx that we solder our own plugs on.

Another thing just to make the telemetry part super cool is if the transmitter could sample values from the sencor connected to the rx every X millisecond and show it as a graph with max/min/avg values after the flight. It could be used to show how rpms vary through the flight, or how good the voltage holds under flight, how many amps it will draw, etc. (drool )

DX? Feature Request

An option to change a Mode 1 tx to a Mode 3 tx (lefty, opposite of Mode 2) from within software, so as to avoid having to desolder/swap/resolder the rudder and aileron gimbal pot and trim pot wires.

This would also allow the option to change a Mode 2 tx to a Mode 4 tx.

I don't care if Futaba is the only one to have tabs I find them extremely useful. I have ESC with JR plug and BEC with JR plug and I fly in the night, 1 out of 3 times when I plug these into my PCM receiver I mix up the polarity, luckily nothing bad happens, but it irritatest me.

Spektrum came last to the market and it should accomodate to it's own advantage a simple thing like spaces for tabs.

And it's not about Futaba, I don't care about Futaba, but the convenience it gives is important to me.

That's my opinion.

Ok Mr 'I do my setups in the dark' - How do you know you've plugged into the correct channels if you can't see 'em - The wires are different colors for a reason plus most everything (including Futaba stuff) is beveled on two corners to prevent them from being plugged in wrong which is the industry standard -

The reason Futaba stuff have tabs is a leftover band-aid to the old polarity issue when the pos&neg wires were in swapped positions which would cause damage if forced the wrong way - Now that standard has changed to prevent damage from forcing plugs the wrong way but even though Futaba followed and changed their plug polarity as well they still kept the tabs as a little trick to try and get people to only buy Futaba products - All the other brands kept to standards and it's Futaba who refuses to fully follow standards - So if you like the tabs so much then quit looking at other products and just stick with Futaba like they intended for you to do by them keeping the tabs -

This issue is what happens when companies refuse to follow standards and is the whole reason for having standards in the first place - I'm not a real fan of the connectors used between BL ESCs and motors but it's the standard and easier and more portable for me to follow that standard than to go my own way with different style connectors even if mine are better - If the industry in whole decides to change the standard I will comply for compatibility and portability - Futaba has their head too far up their own arse to care about your compatibility issues - They've always been egotistical like that -

They should either comply with industry standard, work with the industry to adopt a new standard, or dominate the market to force a new standard - But it's been at least a 1/4 century since the polarity standard change and they've failed to achieve anything on the issue besides inconvenience everyone this entire time just over a silly little tab.
