My Posts This: Topic Forum | Ok, I currently own a DX7, I think it is fantastic. I was thinking since we all know the DX9 is going to happen and I am certain many more radios etc to come from Spektrum why not voice our opinions in a thread to summarize what we feel as Spektrum owners would be "wanted" and "needed" in our opinions. To kick this off I will voice my few things and please people lets keep it realistic! I am hoping Mr. Beard and Spektrum will listen to us and incorporate some of what we say into their next Spektrum tx models to come.
Things I would like to see in the future Spektrum Transmitters:
(1) Since the tx is so light in comparison to may transmitters it would be nice to see the strap attachment hook located lower on the radio to provide a better center of gravity. WIth my DX7 it always feel like I am working to keep the top from tilting up and is quite annoying. In addition to this perhaps some of the electronics could be placed differently to add more weight to the top section, bottom line I feel something in this regards needs to be done. (This is my current biggest beef.)
(2) A better quality power regulator of sorts to reduce or eliminate the "buzzing" sounds we receive through the grill,,,,everyone has heard this I am certain.
(3) Ability to assign the timer to the throttle stick, this was brought up by other members and they should have that option as many other txs' do.
(4) More attention to the "quality look" and more importantly the "quality feel". The DX7 was a huge improvement, it would be nice to see a much higher quality one in this respect next time around.
(5) If possible a shorter "rubber" style antenna rather than the current plastic foldable style, perhaps a removable one "thread, like coax?:....this may just be me thinking this however....
(6) Larger mah battery for the tx to offer much longer use before charging.
(7) Having a jog dial like the 9C Super or the Tumbler like the JR 9303 would be awesome to have!
(8) Model selection from the main screen, be nice to not have to turn off and hold both buttons to re select another model.
In regards to the RECIEVERS:
(1) The two stubby antennas that come out of the rxs are brittle and will bend back and break far too easily. Either some sort of rubber re enforced cone at base of them or something should be looked into, this is a big rant for many.
(2) The connectors that plug into the rx "antenna" are weak and can pull out pretty easily, somehow a new plug or modified plug should be looked into imho.
I know there are more items, you peeps fill in the gaps, that is the kick off. I sincerely hope some Spektrum people will view this and take it seriously, after all the more happy customers you have the more you will sell. Best sales and loyal customers are developed by word of mouth imho!
Thanks,
Shawn
