The 9 channel Rx is done. I have a prototype flying. Its slightly bigger than the 7000, rectangular and has connectors for 2 external antennas but you only need to use 1. If your Rx has to go in a poor Rf location, plug the other antenna in as well for extra security.

It has 9 sets of pins for servos, 1 for battery and one for binding.

Funny you say the "spectrum game." Just today I heard someone saying Futaba just released a "spectrum"/"Spektrum" system. I jokingly corrected the fella saying, "I guess Spektrum has become the Kleenex of spread spectrum."

They are protoyping a 6 channel system now. Thats a lil far behind. The still dont have modules out...yet. Cant do much with 6channels on a nitor helicopter. No governor thats for sure

Looking at the picture in the ad, wonder what the coaxial looking input is for? Any idea?

That is where your antenna is going to plug into. They have had modules out for the cars for a while now. If you look, the pistol grips have 2 antennas. The stock one will not be used. Instead, the transmission is put out through the module.

Here is a picture of the 3ch module for Futaba

Hey if they release a DX9 I am all over it, only I hope they move the nexstrap loop down abit to compensate for the weight, that is the only thing that is abit bothersome about the DX7 is the radio tilts up all the time due to weight.

Super Stoked! Now that I can keep my 9C. I darn near bought the Dx7 but though I would wait. Only problem now is the added cash for the RX's.

So, does anyone think there will every be a stand alone DX9 system?

Of course they will, it'll be out by Toledo. I think there's a good chance we'll see it tomorrow when these are officially released.

I am still glad I picked up the DX7 - the direct conversion to SS is noticeable and it does everything I need. But this is great news for all you guys that need more channels/functions or dont want to get another radio. This is really good stuff!!!

I cant wait to see more JKos latency tests with therse modules, just for kicks

If they thought they had a problem keeping the 6100 and 7000 receivers in stock before - they are in for a surge unlike any ever seen. I cant imagine how many receivers are going to be sold when these modules are on the shelves

If you are using one of these modules, you will not be transmitting on 72 MHz (or fill in the blank for other counties) at all. You'll just be freeing up the frequency board a bit more for the guys who still need it.

Also what about the speed? Will these new modules still be as fast as the actuall DX7 combo. I would imagine the modules will be powered by the transmitter batts.

I still thinks it's worth waiting to see what Futaba is going to release. Most of my friends jumped on the DX6/DX7 bandwagon, but I felt that they were too much of a step backwards in features and functionality. There's nothing forcing me off of 72mhz, so I'm content to wait and see all of the offerings before making a decision.
