Cool Eolo GWS! could you shoot a video of it into action?

Have you flown it recently?

I think it's pretty cool having a nice machine on 3S.
I want to use mine as a camera ship; I know one of you has build something very very sweet!!

I'd advice anyone not to use a Twist in their Eolo. The motor demagnetizes and overspeeds before it dies...

I am using an SMT-500H, KV3500, with much better luck than my former Twist. 75 flights so far within a year on R22 then Spirit kits.

hi

i'd advice this guy(frenchie) does not know what he is talking about,,this motor is new,but i flew an eolo for over 2 years with a kontronik twist,,no problems,,if you know what you are doing and don't over heat or over load a motor and let it cool down between ,,you'll never have any problems...been flying brushless motors for years,,never had any of them "demagnitize" on my helis or planes,,

I've had three Twist 33's demagnatize

I never ran them hot, in fact the last one never even got warm. Never ran them on back-to-back packs. The last one demagged none the less, in about 15 flights (after Kontronic replace the rotor). Maybe Kontronic's quality went out the window on these (their other motors are flawless).

Now I run the hackers (8L, 9L) and a Lehner 1930-6. Never a problem. The Hackers can get good and hot without any problem. Hundreds of flights.

My buddy had Kontronic replace his too. Replaced with new in the box. I am sure he would like to sell it for what they charged him which was $100 for the brand new replacement motor. If you need a motor and believe in these, he might even negotiate. He has never used it, and it is still brand new. Had we known then what we know now, we would not have paid for the repair/replacement.

keepin' it real

The SMT 500-H is a brushless motor that I have found quite optimal for my use.
I am flying the Eolo without canopy and two semi heat skins clipped to the motor.
I have also been lifting a 130g camera (0.29 lb) for seven to eight mintues on an Evo3S3700 battery, draining 2700+/- mA.

here is a link to their stuff; it's a merchant-hosted webpage but still:

I also phoned Serge from Serge Maillard Technologie, nice guy, long call...
he's quite passionate but calm and seems not to be aiming for 3D performance
better reliability/price/performance/endurance
