Is top speed for a given heli strictly proportunal to headspeed, ie. more headspeed means more top speed? ( not talking about drag racing, just really fast field circuits).

If true, is it the headspeed or the blade tip speed that matters, in other words can you get more top speed by changing gearing and going to a smaller rotor spinning faster, or am I way off track here?

Thanks, want to make my trex as fast as possible, and not sure best way forward.
