My Posts This: Topic Forum | that's quite an interesting fact, Ben. Suffice to say I can now understand why Futaba has basically overloaded their 14MZ with features that most would not ever need.
Software is always a pain in the ass to develop and test, and for basically "mission critical" software it is even worse. Although Futaba is large and has a lot of resources, I would assume that it has a problems that large teams have, everyone wanting to put their own "thing" into the project and that's where you get the "trying to be everything to everybody" that comes with the 14MZ, JR has less features but they concentrate on putting things in that matter and for reliability. JR has less resources but they can make up for it either by having more talented individuals and more carefully thought out planning, and more of a central person in control of the project. I would probably liken this to Microsoft and Apple.
Both companies now must be seriously p*ssed off with the arrival of spread spectrum technology as we move over to it.
Oh, and did anyone notice Patrick Kessler's Sylphide cleverly disguised as a Venture 90 in the photos? He modified it to underslung and changed the front swashlink to be more robust |
