In fact, the 2.4ghz is only for indoor use, with a 6 channel radio.
A new 12 channel is there : T12 FG.

It appears that it replaces the 12mz... but it's quite UGLY !

Hello

No the new 12 channel does not directly replace the 12MZ but is a economy version which will sit between the 9 channel and the 12MZ, it is based on the 12MZ and still has the 3G set up etc but they have stripped some of the programing away and it has a smaller screen.
The retail price is not known yet but expect it to be about 25 to 30% less than the 12MZ.

Personally I like the style a little more than the 12MZ but that's personal preference.

With so much chioce from Futaba I am not sure where this leaves JR now...

Cheers

I don't think JR is hurting, especially with the extreme success of the DX7. About 50% of my friends who either have a 12z or 14mz Futaba have also purchased and are currently flying the DX7. Not saying they are selling off all of their Futaba stuff, but it is gathering dust!

You have the 10X, 9303, 8103 and DX7 (7202) stacked up against the 14mz, 12z and 9c. I would say that you have more options at a better price with JR than Futaba. Right?

As for Futaba's "FASST" system, it sure has been "SLOW" getting to the market

Okay, I am off my little soapbox

Hey Mark, thanks for posting all of this stuff for us. On a videography note, if you set your cam to manual exposure you can lock it in so the screen doesn't get dark when you pan up toward the sky. Just a tip, take it or leave it Thanks again!

These look like the Robbe Eolo/Spirit. I wonder if they have improved the frame (and thus the name Rigid). No canopy off pictures. Also, no Robbe distributor in the US. Too bad I really liked my Eolo.

Also, one is flybarless. Did they introduce a system?

Joe, "Rigid" is the name of a flybarless helicopter head. I hope they improved the frame

Funny Ryan, my DX7 has no JR markings on it at all. As a matter of fact from what I understand the DX7 is made in Korea. Just pull the battery pack out and do a search to see where it's made.

I do like my DX7 for now but will most likely dump it when JR releases their version.

There's one small marking on the dx7 that is JR, the radio case. The radio is a JR 7202 with 2.4ghz, even all the programming is the same. That's what all spektrum radios are. So you can wait for JR to release their own version of the 7202 on 2.4ghz, but it wont be coming. And what does being made in Korea have to do with it being JR or not? JR and Spektrum are the same company,

Having owned both and had the back off of both the 7202 and DX7 I can assure you those two radios share most every part except for the transmitter board. Even the funky key dance that gets you into the secret calibration menu and the calibration menus themselves are the same.

The DX7 software has very little modifications form the 7202.
