My Posts This: Topic Forum | No hoverHi, I' m a newbie too. Are you talking about the Nr3D? If so, it's really not a beginner's heli. Is it your first heli? The best for beginners is the Ocean Rescue, a coaxial (2 counter rotating sets of blades) It's very stable. I began with 2 Air Hogs Havoc (Picooz) 2 channels infrared remote (you control only altitide and steering. Forward movement is achieved by adding weight on nose) The I got the Ocean Rescue. It's really the best for newbies.
I have now the NR3D, followed all indications in the manual, found this forum, which helped me a lot. Mr. Paul has putted a lot of useful tips. I'm still learning, but I've progressed a lot.
Here are my best advices: Practice in the widest indoor area you can find or calm outside. If you try to fly in a small room, you won't get it to a hover. Put a traing kit under it. Swashplate must be tilted a little to the right to help couteract the NATURAL tendency to go to the left. Move you servo rods to the first hole (inside hole) to get it less responsive.
My best progresses were when I got outside, and didn't have to worry about anything around me.
Oh, and get some carbon blades, and see saw holders. They really are a must to have
Good luck, and keep us informed about your progresses
