I put the magnet on the top collor (just above top bearring), and glued the sensor to the frame, Ive done that on all my heli's

I looked at installing it there too, but my set screws stick out so far I would of had to grind them down or change them out. I just didn't feel like messing with it. I probably should have it might had been quicker. I seen the new RPM sensors out, optical and the one that goes between the motor leads, I had this one on hand since I purchased my EagleTree, thought I better use it.

Some days you just shouldnt get out of bed... this is pretty much one of those.

First, flying with the Eagletree that didnt record any thing was a dissapointment.

Then delivery guy came with a metal tool-case ive ordered, (one of those big heavy things with drawers), when I pulled it out of the box the handle on the side let go, manufacturing error, they forgot the screws.
Almost crushed my foot, left a nifty dent in my stone tile floor, tool-case destroyed.

Then I decieded to get my Raptor ready for 12s, just gonna try it out, had pre-made serial-harness for the batteries, and ZAP, they where pre-made WRONG, so I have a bad CC 85HV controller and two FP 6s1p 3700 which is under tight supervision right now.

Time for a few beers or perhaps many...

/Rant off, Ill be back for more flight-tests tomorrow, hopefully.

My damn EagleTree didnt work today either (it had removed all "logging features" since I re-installed new firmware)
So, no graph today, sorry.

Anyway:

Tested: Actro 24-4, 12T
Battery: 12s1p 3700 (2 x 6s in series)
RPM: Unknown, guesstimated 2150ish (based on how fast the cyclic was)

Performance: Oh yes, VERY nice, will be hard going back to 10s now.

I had a feeling it would be like this, so I have ordered TPPacks a123 kit, so I can run 15s A123 (should be like 12s or even a bit better)
That will be interesting.

But before that, the Neu 1912/1Y is on the way, will test that too.

Gonna try to get a graph of this setup tomorrow.

Will the Eagle Tree work with a 12S? I copied this from their site.

>>>>Logs pack current to +/- 100 amps and voltage to 45 volts<<<<

Your talking 50.4 volts with a 12S setup.

Unless the V2 has a higher voltage limit than the V1 you probably burned it out. I had a V1 that burned out with an 11s setup. For a 12s setup I just put it in series with one of the 6s packs. The current is the same but you have to double the volts and watts.

It would be nice if Eagle Tree would make a higher voltage version (60-75v).

Dont think really it should be a problem (seen many running 12s with eagletree, even more then that actually), Ive mailed them and asked though.

But what I did today was flying 2 minutes without the eagletree, then landed and hooked it up, these battery resting volt is 3.8, so that would be 45.6 volts max, then as soon as you spoolup your under 45 volt.

Why it didnt record was that I crashed it yesterday (corrupt data), then I sent in a new firmware, but it had removed all settings, so all "record this parameters" was unchecked... So it worked, just didnt save any parameters, except time...

Got an answer from eagletree

"the Micropower can go up to 50v, but I wouldn't go any higher than that. 50v will not damage it, but you may see some clipping of your voltage data."

Looks like I need to trade in my V1 for a V2 so I can go to 50v. Does anyone know if they have an upgrade program?

Z power, z50-800

just received an email from Z-power in response to my request for info on timing and frequency for controller programming. They stated that this is a 10 pole motor. I thought that it was a 14 pole motor. Can anyone confirm the correct count for me. Thanks.
info provided by Z Power
poles 10
frequency 8 khz
timing 30 degrees

I posted this on another forum also, but I thought I would post my graph here as well on my trial with a 9 Toogh pinion.

I flew and got a graph today, E620, Z50A, Fixed Heli @ 100% flat curve. 9 Tooth Pinion.
I think the performance felt better with the 10T and the governor working. I noticed more of an RPM drop with this trial. Electronically speaking, this setup seemed easier on them, my flight time could have been bumped up a bit also with the 9T. I'm probably going to go back to the 10T a governor mode. It's only a five minute flight but it's Ye Haaa.... the entire flight.

Rick

For whatever reason in putting my frame peice back on "finally" I accidently bumped pinion and the whole can of motor went up with it. I then was like wtf is going on here???, I proceeded to pulling on the can of the Zmotor and the can, shaft and pinion all will pull up, feels almost spring loaded. Very strange I never seen an E Motor like this,,,, I sent out a few pms on this, hoping someone else will try this on their Zmotor and see if their can pulls up. If not then I guess I have yet another roadblock on this Raptor to face and that is getting old allready.

Shawn,

Mine is the same , That's not a problem but feels and looks cheap for sure , people run Actros like that by removing the grey endcap.

I'll maiden my E620 tomorrow , I have the 9t mounted so I'm not expecting anything spectacular , we'll see.
