Hey everyone. Just wanted to share the excitement of getting this HDX flying after reading all the bad reviews and thoughts of this little heli. I bought it from another RR member as a used airframe without the aluminum head and really didn't know what I was getting myself into. I thought why not, I had enough spare electronics and an aluminum head from my Honeybee CP2 (never installed BTW).
After a month of owning, I finally got everything tested and trimmed and it flys beautifully and very stable once adjustments/ modifications are made. Had to fabricate an aluminum bracket for the front to distribute the weight evenly using a TP 1320 pack. I'm also using everyone's favorite gyro, the JR 410GT without any probs. The gyro is for sale BTW. Well here are some pics of the heli with a CP Pro canopy mounted.

Looks good, I happen to like mine also I never really experienced any of the problems that everyone else has had, except for the main shaft and tail shaft.

Thanks Iransl.

I'm actually using the original mainshaft without the holes or the grooves cut into it. Its not undersized like the newer ones are and it seems to keep the head from wobbling. I ground some flats to the setscrew contact area on the shaft to keep things in place. The grooves that the newer ones have tend to have too small a contact diameter to keep the parts centered properly also. I will have to do the tail mods to get more tail authority when doing piros. I don't get enough rudder pitch. Now to find that thread on the mod. I remember having to flip the pitch slider and reversing some things. So far, the tail seems to not have any vibration issues at all.
I'm going to try the 10T pinion soon as this 3800kv motor doesn't seem to have enough headspeed and isn't even warming up.
BTW, my setup is:

Align 35g ESC
JR 410GT gyro
Futaba 3703 cyclics
Hitec HS 50 rudder
Berg 7P receiver
TP 1320 11.1 V LiPO
Esky Carbon main blades
Custom swash follower attached to mainshaft(found on Heli_freak.com)

You will like the 10T pinion I was running that for awhile but went to the 9T for longer flying time and less heat in the batteries... I like everything to stay just warm after a flight, and sacrificing headspeed is the easiest way to do that...

Tom..... No "D" flying....
