my 3 meter 47 is created and on its way by dhl

i should have it by friday! the 27 06 when it comes ill post pics .....then i decided to tear it down to the frame and repaint, and modift some things....like a fueller valve in the top tank, switch combo with battery indicatorlights, ant and scale details,im also going to try to get new rounded landing gear on like my real g2 had......hopper tanks will be removed,

my real 47 was a dirty white, but i was thinking a silver would work tooo.. i figured its partially dissasembled now and the tail needs paint anyway so might as well paint it all at once....

ok irecieved the bell 47 from nowelflying

its here and at first glance it was nice................but....the buble was split in two, there were two braces that came un soldered, and and the tail fins were in rough shape and a new main gear was included to replace,,,,,,so i tore the ship down completely that night,,,it dident take long,,,,,then i hacked off the square landing gear,,,,,,,and resoldered the loose parts,,,,then i made rounded landing gear using the same skids and soldered them on,,,,,,,then i primered the whole tail and main frames and painted them gloss white,,,,,,,,,i degreased the motor, and had to modify the frames and the gear hub to mount the new main gear,,,,,,the motor says walbaro g49 on it so it may be a 49cc engine,,,,,,,,it is a hacked up chainsaw motor in it....lots of rust on all the metals like pushrods, flybar, main shaft,ect.....so i will sand and paint all but the main shaft..,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
hear are my thoughts on martins work.........some parts are ingenious like the main mech frame is all one piece!the tail gearbox is an industrial 90deg modified part,,,,,,engine mounting is straight to the cyl bolts,,,,,the head is all custom,,,mechanics are simple.....bad design in the gear to tail drive,,,,verry weak mounting and harsh load on bearing.......also many bearings arent sealed there all open!..........the blades are a work of art!!! the fiborglass looks good but seams are coming appart on the hopper tanks,,and one of the main tanks,,,, ...........for the money its steep but i guess its about right..

today i got all the parts ready for the powder coaters and the body shop

i had to make a new tail fin for painting, the old fiberglass one was busted up bad....the new one was made of flexible plastic instead and the mounting bolts enlarged for better mount,,,,,,,,emailed martin sollner for prices on a new buble and spare belt,,,,,awaiting return email,,,,,,,,,,,,i found that on the tail gearbox there is a grease hole to fill the tail gearbox............it looks like im going to have almost 7g in it before im done rtf more than i thought..............and im a pretty good estimator

Power Option

I have a 1/6 gas truck for my ground hobby. I frequent the local go-ped palace because they use Zenoah's a lot and are a good source for performance parts for my 26 and 29 cc. Last week the shop owner showed me a new 40+ cc gasser for $750 I believe. It was too large to fit in my FG MT-5 so I didn't look closer. MAYBE, your local go-ped guru can offer engine options that you could use. These guys are making a lot of power for go-peds, enough to push a 225 lb kid at 45 mph in a 300 ft parking lot. CRAZY KIDS....

I'm almost ready to drop a bucket load of cash for an XLV with the SPH5 two stage. Only 2.5 meters but still a big boy. Good luck and fly safe.

the bell 47 is back ...

got it from thr powdercoaters yesterday and already the mechanics and tailboom and all servos and linkage installed, tailfins decorated and also tail boom.............here are some pics in front of my 61 in tv for size comparison,,,,,,,,,,,,,,as you can imagine im going through every part to make sure it is to my high standards,,,,,,,,,,,,it is built with extreem criticism and looks awsome so far,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i may have to try to make my own buble for the 47 as i cant see paying around 300.00usd for a piece of lexon,,,,,,,,i thought a large ball and lexon heated around it might work ok..........for 300.00 i can make my own homeade machine and plug if i have to and have it done in less than three weeks time
