I've flown a Stratus and a Avant EFX with programmable head and while they are both high end machines and fly extremely well, the Avant really rocked better for me.

3D heli Ireland, get a grip.
You are obviously very passionate about the Stratus.
However bieng a sponsered pilot looses all of your credability when trying to tell others about how good the model you fly really is.

If you need an unbiased opinion of which model to get that will suit you, go to the local field and have a word with people that have owned both, and paid for them.

UK Helinut please read the full post. I said in the post that the best way to find which machine suits you is to fly it and see. Forums are for people to give their opinions based on experience. Thats what I have done. As I said in the post, fly it and see and then make your own opinion.

A point of note; All of the equipment I have used for the last two 3D Masters and the 13 years prior in which I have flown helis has cost me full retail price and has been gathered over a number of years. Hard work got my machines in the air, nothing else. Just in case you think you are the only one out there paying for stuff

Guys, guys....

I thank you for all the information on both ships with the 2 cents put in from the Avant guys. I am still on the fence between the N9 and the Stratus. Does anyone know the general weight of the Stratus I know the N9 is about 11 pounds (I did a search but no Stratus weights only Avant and N9). Keep the info coming so I can make my decision!!

that is you boy

He ask for a simple info on witch one between two, and there you go again “ Avant cheerleader ” comes in and tell his story. If is too much for you call your boy and ask him to deleted this post by the owner.

Will you even give up, this is why people don’t like that, give others chance to chose for them self, we all don’t care what you have to say is all been paid for.

i have 2 synergys and have never flown or owned a stratus.

i will put it another way to you, why not just buy the one you like the look of? you won't outfly either for sure. don't buy into this X is better than Y stuff, if mr X pays for X then he ain't going to say Y is better is he? follow that?

it's hard to have an unbiased view on something that costs so much.

i went with the synergy and i'm happy with that choice even allowing for niggles thats been had.

cheers

So why did you rule out to Avant Aurora, parts are cheap(or are suppose to be) and from what ive heard and seen (saw danny szabo fly it) it is the best machine that is going to be out. Im just wondering.

why not upgrade your fury to a stratus with a kit AND buy a synergy?

it only costs an extra $1.95 to go first class.

Just pick the one that trips your trigger and go for it. If you decide down the road that you want to try something else, you can sell the first chopper and use the funds to help pay for the other one. Sure, it's not as cheap as picking one and sticking with it, but c'mon it's a hobby and part of the fun is trying different things.

he doesn't want one, can no one accept that?

if you want to go down that route about who is flying what, remind me again how many 3dm winners are currently flying the aurora?????
danny and alan made the raptor look amazing, hardly surprising the aurora is doing the same.

cheers

Hello......

This is still a figment of someones imagination, it exists only in prototype form, there is no release date, and the comparison asked for was between a stratus and an N9.

Synergy N9; Even though i loathe everything i've been through with this machine it's a great heli.

Stratus; Design and manufacture has been around a long time.

Looks the N9 wins!!!

In terms of flying notes the stratus has a slightly faster cycic rate when set to the .75:1 flybar ratio than the synergy which should be good in theory, in practice it makes the heli more divergant tracks worse and needs more cyclic correction than the synergy, on the 1:1 ratio again the stratus is a tad quicker on cyclic but exibits the same deal however the synergy flys ALOT better on this ratio alround tracks sweet huge loops are easy ect ect. Tail, the stratus tail is not as locked in as the synergy it has a smaller disc area and maybe a tad slower (this is noticable in flight) next is vibes the engine mount system is a little fickle on the stratus and needs to be set up well to get a vibe free heli (aqs they all do) exept the synergy is more tolerant with the plasic engine mount idea also all of the servo's mount through the frames making changing frames a bit tricky (synergy has removable seperate module for radio and servo's) Pitch response as anyone who has flown both will say 'the synergy is fast on pitch' which makes it fun to fly and responsive and off topic for the question asked but the maintanace is easyer less parts cheaper (in uk) and frame design stands up to crashes better

p.s I have owned and flown both for a good period
