Hi Jayson,
I called to JJ Neri regarding the F3a compitition in Cebu. and will reply you directly . And regarding the Hirobo Cup 2007 we still consider resort beach for the last evening awarding. The airplanes boys will be all out to help this event, please come one week early, we need your help and advice. We will have several choices of hotels, As low as U.S. 40.00 a day for the pilot, this hotel is own by our F3A commissioner. so if you spill fuel on the carpet or bed, he will understand, Just don't light it up.The Cebu local governments will also help. Our committee will post the official infromation with in the year.
Futaba will be the co-sponsor, they will send heli flyers over during the event. (big prizes too)
Please invite the all HongKong Team over.They all promised me during in Samora,Spain and in Ota, Japan. Taiwan Team have about 10 coming, hope the other country will join in too. Even if they don't join the compition but as a tourists Try the warm hospitality of the Cebunano and fresh caught sea foods, barbecue at the beach with live music on sun set Hmmmmmmm! "THE UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE"
From HongKong, Narita, Kansai, Kao Shung (Taiwan) have direct flight going to Cebu.

Cebu to host radio-controlled helicopter competition next year

THE City will play host to a radio-controlled helicopter competition next year dubbed the Hirobo Asian Cup 2007 at the South Reclamation Project.

The competition will serve as highlight to the SRP Summer Fun Festival in April next year.

Cebu City Councilor Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem said the two-day festival that would be held in mid-April will also feature four other sporting events, which was already approved last Thursday during the Cebu City Sports Commission weekly meeting.

Jakosalem added the the festivity will also serve as the formal launching of the SRP as an official sports hub of Cebu.

“Since we will be having foreign visitors, we might as well take advantage of it and introduce SRP as a venue for many kinds of sports,” Jakosalem added.

The CCSC had long planned to turn an allocated lot into a sports arena that will cater to football, batted sports as well as a place for races.

Events

The other events to be included are the horse show and competition, which will be conducted by the Cebu Equine Owners, Breeders and Sportsmen’s Association, the SRP Challenge 10K Run and the hosting of the mountain bike and road bike races around the SRP.

Meanwhile, the Hirobo Cup, which had its 2006 edition just last month in Japan, expects to draw RC enthusiasts from all over Asia, Europe and America.

Jakosalem said that the tournament was supposed to be held in Hong Kong but after inspecting SRP as a possible venue, the organizers found out that it was a better venue for the competition.

Recently, Hirobo Japan, represented by export manager Takahiro Kobayashi, with JP Reyes and Shakespeare Chan, who are the officers of the World Air Sports Federation, and their local counterparts from Cebu Aeromodelers Club recently met with Jakosalem to discuss the possibility of having the SRP as their venue for next year’s event.

“They checked out the SRP and found it ideal for their competition. When I discussed this with the mayor, he gave his go signal right away,” Jakosalem said.

Hirobo is the leading manufacturer of Remote Controlled helicopters worldwide and the Hirobo Cup is the most prestigious competition for RC helicopters. (MCB)

You guys are making big this time! Its no easy effort I know, and I envy you guys have the Government backing you guys up!

No problem, I come early to help, glad to be of service, but should I fly to Manila first, or should I fly direct to Cebu? What's Koba's choice? I might ask him to come to Hong Kong first and we go together. As to hotel, I stay the same hotel as Koba.

What's next? How about having the Asia Oceanic Championship on 2008 at Cebu?

Yes,its better for you to come to Manila first for meeting together with Koba, then we will fly togeter to Cebu.
The Cebu Club are capable to handle very good National competition, we past the first stages according to our president , and the Second stages will the the Asian Hirobo Cup 2007, if we past then we will consider the CAOCC in 2008,both for F3A & F3C on a different month. With the great help from the Cebu Mayor and city governments, I think we will be able to hold even World competition. That is our goal. As a matter of fact,Our President JP said, lets hope we will be the first country in Southeast Asia to hold the world F3A & F3C. Our Secretary General Iyoy already submitted the FAI, run way and heli plan to Councilor Jack Jakosalem,As soon as it finished will inform Koba for final check.The FAI (Philippines) will soon have their own website to update all the information. I surly hope they can also join us next year event.The Cebu Club are trying very hard to make the event smoothly, we knew for every flyer who travel abroad are sometime hassel with the equiments,
And we had have learned that from other countries, Thats why our president JP highly recommend Cebu City,From Airport to Hotel approximately 45mins or less, Hotel to flying field 30mins or less, Traffic condition in that City are fairly good, you don't even need to rent a car, We will try to have buses to transport all flyers from hotel to airfield and back. Will have members to meet you upon arrival at airport, we also request our Tourisim to assist you going thru immigration and custom. We also have foods and drinks stand at sight, portalet and etc. They also have Waterfront Casino Hotel, Shangrila hotel.And try to have this as a vacation for your family too. We will consider to have standby travel agent for sight seening tour.

Latest news from councilor Jack Jakosalem...

He was with Jayjay Neri (F3A-Phils. commissioner) and friends yesterday to see the area at South Reclamation Project where the Hirobo Cup Asia/Philippines 2007 will be held.

A 150-meter runway and an FAI/F3C official helipad is being constructed there as preparation for the upcoming event. Mr. Kobayashi of Hirobo Japan will be back on February 14, 2007 to see the site.

Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

It's a pity Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo called off the ASEAN Summit scheduled over the weekend in Cebu City. The reason given was inclement weather brought about by a passing typhoon. I just found out that a side trip visit to inspect the Hirobo Cup contest site was scheduled for no less than the Honorable Prime Minister of Japan himself, Mr. Shinzo Abe. Imagine that, even the Prime Minister is involved!

Our consolation is that at least he is aware of our event which makes us realize it's significance.

Mr Iyoy,

Can you please answer the following questions.

1. I guess P3C is very basic maneuvers, where can I download this schedule?

2. If we want to joint the competition, How do we register? Do we need to ask for invitation letter from FAI Philipines?

3. As we have never taken part of any RC heli competition and not familiar with FAI Schedule A or Schedule B, can we register for P3C only? (I am assumed that P3C can be practiced in 4 months, of course for those who can fly heli around).

4. If we do not have time to prepare, can we come to this event as visitor only? (mainly to learn)

Competiton : F3C class 30 pilots(If over 30 pilots, we will cut 1 or 2 maneuvers)
FAI 2006 schedule A 2 rounds (preliminary round)
FAI 2006 schedule B 2 rounds (final round)
2 rounds total and select the top 10 from total score of 2 rounds at schedule A, top 10 pilots will be in final and fly second round of schedule B
3 best rounds out of 4 will be counted for final score.
P3C class (Intermediate) 20 pilots
Detail will de decided later
Competition is open. Any manufacturer’s helicopter can participate, but please note Grand Prize will be awarded to top pilot in F3C category with Hirobo helicopter only.

Entry and fee : F3C US$50.00 40 pilots
P3C US$30.00 20 pilots
Entry fee includes dinner party on Sunday evening.
Entry will be first come first serve. We will close entry when limits are filled.

Demonstration : HIROBO and Futaba pilots will be demonstration during this competition

Technical service: All pilots who flying and using HIROBO machine and Futaba transmitter can get free adjusting and set up

Thank you for your interest. I hope the previous posts by lewd skywalker answers your questions. We have a problem for the moment and that is the advise from Mr. Kobayashi of Hirobo Japan that participation in P3C shall be limited to local pilots only. The reason is that there are too many who want to join and that not all can be accommodated. The F3C portion however will remain open to all nationalities.
