that's not the same cell. Those 2700's are only good for about 12 to 15 amps and 15 is really pushing them,..they're below a volt per cell. they are an "A" diameter cell. The 2600's that are the newest "rage" are the Sanyo HR-SC cells, sub-C size, and still over 1 volt per cell at 66 amps (highest current I've flown them at). they are quite different from other nimh cells, as they don't seem to have temperature preferences (perform well when cold as well as hot off charger), can be charged at high rates without venting (I charge them at 8 amps), and stay above 1 volt per cell at very high currents, actually showing better performance than 2400 nicads, which have been the "standard" for high current applications. Currently, they are available (when in stock ) from www.flydma.com and www.tnrtechnical.com

Safe-Cracker, the discussion above is about the 2600 sub c cells to power an electric model, not a reciever pack.

Flatspin

Then why is he talking about an electric model when I'm sure the original poster was looking for a NIMH rx pack? You think he was a bit off topic? He didn't specify the data he gave was from an electric flyer.

The topic said "2600 NIMH's" and post said "Where can one get these batteries???" Nothing mentioned about RX packs....

Since this is the "all electrics" discussion forumn on runryder, I assumed the question was regarding the 2600 nimh cells that are setting new standards for performance (less voltage drop under load) and capacity (more "usable capacity" than even the 3300's at typical motor currents). Yes, the little "A" size 2700's work fine for rx/servo packs where you only draw a couple amps,.. sometimes up to 10 or so if lots of digitals all starting at once (I've measured 12 amps peak but only for a split second, with 5 digitals all in motion).
As to the other question about the 3300's,.. they work OK,.. a bit better than the HV3000's, but still deliver less capacity under normal e-flight loads than the 2600's (which really deliver 2600 as opposed to 2200~2300 from the 3000 and 3300 cells).

As to your sarcastic remark about me saying they're the new "rage",.. well,....... they are. This is the sort of thing that makes me stop visiting forums for a while,.. then I decide to honestly answer someones question and get blasted. I don't know who "safe-cracker" is, or if he really intended to be so sarcastic,.. but I can assure him, I have a fair knowledge of both helis and electric flight.

Gary,

Thanks a ton for the information. I was indeed inquiring about the HR-SC2600 cells that Sanyo has out. I value your experience and really appreciate the contribution to this list.

Battery Tip

www.BattlePack.com

Talk to Steve or Sara at Battle Packs.
Very good deals on sub-C 3000 NMh's
A bit high on the labor if you have them build packs for you,
but single cell prices can't be beat.
Great customer service too....

Safe_Cracker seen 2600's and his mind went to the 2700 expert packs that I personally dislike. I own four and 2 of the 4 were bad from Horizon, which they did take care of. Still the quality control is lacking. I'm glad to hear about the 2600's Gary being a real performer. Panos is running those in his Logo 10. We'll have to listen for a report from him also when he gets to ring the little heli out. Thanks for contributing to the forum.
