I'm liking that it's supposed to be GY611 level of performance, for less money AND it's lighter and takes up less real estate, which is especially important to me on electric helis.

After thinking about it, this gyro is so much better then the 611, just as frittslogic said it weights less and takes up less space, so thats a big plus. I cant wait to get it.

I'm very interested in this gyro and servo myself. However, the thought that it takes less space is somewhat offset by the fact that the box HAS to be mounted horizontally, on a fairly large plate, under the canopy. Most of us mount the gyro control boxes of 501-611 series gyros vertically next to a GV box. Also, I wouldn't want to have it mounted aft, like some gyro sensors are. Oil could get inside fairly easy through the pushbuttons. You could tape over them if they were recessed like the 401s, but since they are exposed, I don't know about putting tape over them.

Anyways, finding perfectly horizontal real estate to put that box on could be a challenge for some machines. One option is to put it upside down under the battery tray of some machines. My X-Specs have a great shelf on which to mount this box up top of the servo frame, so I know I'm good.

Just something to think about...

Pics of both gyros with size reference in my gallery. The 2100T is obviously tiny, and the 6100T is actually quite small. I will try and upload some pics of it mounted in my R50 soon.

The 6100T is designed to be mounted in 'typical' gyro mounting positions, eg behind the main shaft.

I am really happy with its performance. I have not quite had a chance to fully evaluate the 2100T as yet.

Hey, I finally flew mine last weekend, and it was nice!!!! The default piro rate was much faster than the GY611. Also, I had to dial the gain down quite a bit from what I usually use on GY611's. I am very, very happy!

Well, my guess is plastic. The servo weighs about the same as a 9254.
