Main Rotor Blades WHERE

I am sure there has been a fair amount of broker main rotor blades. Is there a spare part source for the rotor blades? They seems like a hard job to repair and balance?

Any help would be appreciated.

This is the web site for the spare parts, but as you can see, the shipping is quite costly. Well, if no one else knows where else to get them I will just order a bunch so that I don't have to keep paying the shipping charges. Lori

I haven't seen anything for the main rotor blades. But as far as the shipping on the other's, it cost $10.00 per item! So if you order 5 sets of tail rotors it will cost $50.00 in shipping, one set $10.00, and they only cost $5.00 for a set of three. WOW!

OK, I found that Radio Shack sells the piccoZ, and I have ordered some spare tail rotor blades from them, They are on back order, but they cost $3.89. I'm not sure if that is for a set of three or not, but I'm hoping so. I ordered six of them and the shipping is only $4.50 total. I will let you know when I get them. I think that you may be able to get other parts through them as well. Not sure, but it's worth checking out. Good luck! Lori

Picco Z and Airhogs now at Target, Walmart & Meiers

FYI to all. I picked up my Airhog heli, which is the same as the Picco Z at Target here in Michigan. Radio Shack was sold out at all stores and online. Now I see them at Target, Meiers and Walmart and selling for $29.99. They're everywhere and a ton of fun for the $$.

parts for the piccoZ

http://www.for-kidsonline.com/

Are you certain these are specifically for the piccoZ? They seem to be for the other heli.

And, just to clarify, how many of us have the actual original ship and how many the knock-off?

The original ship is "PicooZ" (note the one "c" and two "o's"); the knock-off is PiccoZ--and, from what I've heard/read, the original is considerably better quality.

To combat the ripoff--the originators have filed suit against the knock-offers--they've changed the name of their ship to "Havoc Heli."

(That's the packaging on the model I got).

Meantime, wonder if those free-shipment-this-weekend replacement rotor-sets would work on my ship. The price sure is right . . .

Thanx, for the bandwidth,
M

I just got my order.. 4 mains and 12 tails.. the finish on them is super.. no flashing around the edges.. put one on and no prob.. the mains are identical to what I have on.. The first one I bought was the xtreme micro heli,, same as picoo or picco but with rounded canopy area, it flies great, , then I bought 2 of the airhog havoc helis which are identical to the picco with the faceted canopy, both fly great and my new parts fit them too..
I just looked and the 2 for 1 sale is over for now, but still free shipping!
And a side note: toys r us is selling the havoc heli online for 22.49 with an additional 10 dollars off your order total if you pay with google checkout. (new google chckout customers only)

replacement parts for one seem to fit all

That's great news, that these replacement parts fit the Havoc Heli as well, since these folks' prices are so much better than everywhere else.

And speak of sweet, that's an amazing price for the Havoc Heli at toysR us.

Just noticed, they claim their setup requires a 9v battery, but my control box takes 6 double-A's. Are the newer units coming with nine-volt slots, rather than the original 6 double-A slots--or maybe it's the other way 'round--these single 9v cell models are the older version?

What do y'all have?

Jeez, am I tempted to buy another one of these; this is the most fun I've had (inside the house) in ages.

I'm pretty sure it's the same Tx. When I bought my original at RS, the guy told me I needed a 9V battery. I had to tell him it takes 6 AAs.

same voltage, cheaper batts

Thanx, JT and av8r, that's good to know.

Speak of batts, anybody tried rechargeables in these havoc helis? Like Ni-Metal Hydrides? Know they're only 1.35v per cell, so that might not be enough bang for the buck.

Trimming the PicooZ

Instead of adding as much weight up front (which requires energy to carry), I tried twisting the tail boom such the TR thrust is partially directed downwards (5 or 10 degrees). This will lift the tail causing the heli to tilt forward to gain forward flight.
It is better than adding weight

Hi Christian,
I did that same thing,, but then I noticed a tendance to climb in a right turn and loss of altitude in a left turn.. sure makes planning an approach interesting. I went back to a thumb tack in the nose and then got the bright idea to make little skids out of those really little straws that are about 6 in long and 1/8 in dia.. cut it in half and use a piece of clear tape to attach to the winglets with only about 3/16 sticking out the rear and the remainder of the straw forward which puts them almost even with the nose and that did the trick.. no more thumb tack, just enough forward weight and stable landing platform.. plus they look kinda cool.
