Turbo your idea got me thinking...

Here is what i am thinking of doing.

Using the electronics from a little toy car i have... or the controller for a hs-55.. im going to create a 3rd channel. Transmitter will just have a toggle... like a idle up switch.. but will have a rf tx/rx.

I weighed my heli at 2.99 grams ( i think, im at work now), and the whole configuration of the 3rd channel increased by .74 grams. If i can get that weight down... i think i will have a pretty feasable mod.

Using 2 actuators, filament wire, rx + ant, alittle exacto knife action, and a few splices for power.. i bet it works.

The onboard lipo, is the right voltages for the rx board i have... so that should work out good.

The little fins turbo added, i will use for mine also. But they will be moveable, as to change direction fore and aft.

:-P

We'll see how it goes... so far the price list is 9.99.
:-D

piccoz

well im absolutly impressed with the 2 piccoz's i bought here in canada. both are the blue colored ones. both have different tweaks but over all i have em both flying very well. i oiled the tail and main shaft with 3 in 1 oil using a hypodermic needle. i then sliced a servo mounting grommet and placed it around the main shaft and plopped it into the hole where the main shaft comes thru. i then greased it with vaseline and very little on the main gears. as well i used all 3 little thin weights just under the nose and cut 2 half inch nails in two and stuck them in the nose of both. gives just the right amount of forward flight to be flying in circles and figure 8's. try it guys youll love it. best indoor helicopter toy since the verti-bird back in the 70's. silverlit has a winner here.

ok... so maybe im crazy... but this is working...

the flap design i talked about didn't work out... it just requires to much surface area to make a difference... far to much to be practical...

So im installing another pager motor, my rx/controller, and borrowing power from the master power circuit... via patches into the main power switch. This will make sure the heli can still recharge, as it won't be trying to power my rx at the same time. Lipo's are hard enough to get right :-)

Here is a pic of my RX and the inside of my picco...

Incase someone hasn't seen whats in there yet.

I'll keep hacking at it... it'll work :-)

P.S. rx weight is with my actuators.. they won't be used here.

I also found the tail blades to be interesting... turns out... instead of pushing the tail prop flush with the motor... or spacing it out a mm or 2.. keep spacing it out until you feel the tail blade starting to get harder to pull off. Stop there...

apparently its a problem for the tail blade to gain "traction" on the little shaft. You might be able to scar up the shaft with a piece of rough sand paper also..

I said earlier about rubber cement... nevermind. Just pull the tail blad off further. Mine is stuck out there around 4mm-5mm from the motor case.

Works great.

Picco Z heli

Just received 3 from Hobbytron.com for $117.00 including shipping.Received them in about a week. They are the latest version for 2007. Flew the first one yesterday. Flies smoother and longer than the X-treme knock-off I bought locally.

Santa brought me one. I have been working nightshift this weekend and took it into work and had great fun at meal break with the rest of my shift but unfortunatly broke the tail blade after lots of crashes.

Any outlet for spares in the U.K.?

I had to cut some of the body away to make it light enough to stay in the air. I removed the stickers from the sides and the tail boom, trimmed the vertical fin and took the landing gear off. It was a little tail heavy so I added some tape to the nose and it flies great now.

Hi ,I'm new to rc copters but not rc. I bought my son a picco z for Christmas and after a series of crashes the main rotor blade broke. Does anyone know of or have a replacement blade for sale. I feel really bad about this and would like to fix it w/out buying another copter if possible. thanks, Keith

I also just got a new PiccoZ and broke both tail rotor blades. The shipping for new blades is $30.00, but the replacement blades are only $5.00 for a set of three. Does anyone know where else these can be purchased?
