concept 30 dx/se

Balbs.
I have a concept 30 that i've been trying to keep going but i've just burnt the clutch out. Could you please advise me on what upgrades I might fit in order to keep it flyable. It is fitted with an Irvine 36 and I'm still running on 515mm mains. Thanks

woodwings,
I have heard that some people are using a Century ionized clutch (whatever that means) on a Concept. Other than that, if you can find a Zeal clutch that was an upgrade for the concept, that would be great.

Hi grahamgg,

I think the route most are going for parts is ebay. I have yet to resurrect mine. I can look to see if I have a extra cone for you. I converted mine to the H500 which uses a metal cone with a one way for the starter. I won't be able to check for a few days. I keep half of my airforce in storage.

There may be a modern day equivalent blade you can use. I think there might be mention of it somewhere on here. Sorry, I can't be more specific.

I hope you get flying soon.

Hi Grahamgg,

I am sorry I have kept you hanging. I forgot to check! I will get over there this weekend to see if I can find it. How is your Concept coming along? Did you ever find any blades?

The Concepts are fab helis - I've been collecting them for some time now - some of which have come from guys here on RR. They aren't fab for a beginner now due to the parts situation but are perfect to bring out on a nice day for a pootle about. Great fun basking in late 80's early 90's heli heaven...!

Got a bunch more on my site now including some nice rare bits... :

PS : Anyone got NIB bodysets of Hughes 300 and Hughes 500...?

Wireless, you are the man! Nice site, it might motivate me to get my H500 flying again soon. All I need is a new tank stopper and maybe some tubing, oh yeah, I'm sure the flapping dampers look like the tank stopper by now too. I downloaded your parts list. I'll will be contacting you when it comes time.

grahamgg,

Good news! I finally found it! It took me 2 occasions of digging through all my junk at my parents house but....

I found the starter cone! Do you still need it? If you still need it, you can have it for the price of shipping.

It was good to dig up the rest of my Concept stuff. I am slowly bunching like stuff together. The movers apparently just put stuff wherever they felt like it.

I'll have to look into Nexus holders when it comes time to get the H500 flying. When you get done let me know how the Nexus holders and new blades turn out. I'm interested to see if newer blades are better.

I got your pm. Let me know which postage rate you want to use. Hope you get flying soon. I have a few projects to knock out before I even think of the H500 But she'll fly again.
