Looks like it rocked hardcore.

I've had the great pleasure of witnessing firsthand probably over 100 of AJ's flights, mostly with his R90 but with other competition-grade helis as well. The thing that stands out for me after seeing this first video is the collective response. There's just no beating eCCPM no matter what the airframe, and this Aurora is noticably 'snappier' on collective, in fact on cyclic as well, than the R90's I've seen him fly.

This is not a slam -- both are excellent birds and either will do well beyond what the vast majority of pilots are capable of doing, but certain performance specs stand out as unmistakably superior. I'm definitely sold.

Just my 3 cents (inflation).

aurora crash comment

I have something for all to hear, and this is coming from a consumer!
I am not a very good pilot just yet, and crashing is part of my learning. This may sound strange, but it's good to see some crashes and THEN see what is involved in repairing the maching. We should consider ourselves rather lucky to be able to see the results of the frame quality after a crash like that from any helicopter. One of the reasons I fly the raptors is repair costs, I am not going to talk about how they hold up.....
Not that I crash that often, I just think this is not a bad thing that there was a malfunction and the chicken danced for us, that was just a demo of quality control on how they hold up to some abuse

On another note: I also have a Fury and a Vibe I am just afraid to fly them rough

I just want to show the good in a bad situation,
THANKS!!!
And GOOD LUCK TO THE NEW AVANT TEAM!!!!
I have talked to Augusto and the Szabos, great people!

If anyone can source it for me I will be more than happy to post it.
That was in the fourth Aurora flight video I posted but it was uploaded by Rocky as it is. Your assumption that I censored is incorrect and uncalled for. Both Alan Jr and I where asking for it at IRCHA and saw a couple of guys that had them in their camcorders that told us they were going to send them to us but so far no luck. Not even Mark has it. I already asked him for it. Early in the afternoon Alan Sr. told me ha was going to try to find a copy from one of his friends.

And don't forget, not only do we want to see the crash, it's still a good selling point to show how well the helicopter stood up to all that abuse one the ground! I personally seen the Aurora after that amazing dance and was impressed how it held up. I know some other brands may not have been repairable without ordering another kit.
don't ask HOW I know

What I learned at IRCHA

Just got home a few days ago from IRCHA. My thanks to the IRCHA officers and to Ron Kummer, the hardest working guy there. Sunday at midday RonK could be seen picking up trash with a garbage bag walking the flight line. I volunteered to do a section of the east line.
Anyway, what a great time.
WHAT I LEARNED AT IRCHA.
1.You can make tons of friends and they all want to help you with your helis.
2. JR has pretty "JR Girls" and they throw t-shirts to you for free.
3. JR E-flite product manager Jason Merkle is a great guy and helped get a local hobby shop's customer Blade CP sorted out for me. GMRO, Jason earned JR employee of the month for that one.
4. Raptor team has the coolest team shirts.
5. Raptor team guys taught me to say "AURORRRRA", the trick is to roll the r's. Oh yeah, we need numbers for top pilots like NASCAR, GO #11, you were robbed, more airhorns next year.
6. I learned not to pop too many rumballs into my mouth, like doing shots with cookie dough chasers.
7 I learned that I like deep fried buffalo wings while watching night flying. Kudos to the guy who brought 65 pounds of buffalo wings. They were great.
8. I learned that electric helis really do fly great, got help building and setting up my first TREX and vowed I will own a TREX 600
someday. Thanks to Gary Rowlands and Scott Globus for the help with the TREX setup.
9. I learned not to miss the "Raptor flier" picture, a friend camped next to me won the Raptor Titan while I was sitting at my table building another Raptor 50. And they give away those cool hats and shirts if you are lucky.
10. I learned that if you get up very early there is hot water at the AMA showers.
In short, can't wait until next year. IRCHA 2007 ONLY 361 DAYS AWAY.

Can't believe how Curtis managed to escape that one! The majority of us would have been going home with a bag of bits!
