My Posts This: Topic Forum | What I learned at IRCHAJust got home a few days ago from IRCHA. My thanks to the IRCHA officers and to Ron Kummer, the hardest working guy there. Sunday at midday RonK could be seen picking up trash with a garbage bag walking the flight line. I volunteered to do a section of the east line.
Anyway, what a great time.
WHAT I LEARNED AT IRCHA.
1.You can make tons of friends and they all want to help you with your helis.
2. JR has pretty "JR Girls" and they throw t-shirts to you for free.
3. JR E-flite product manager Jason Merkle is a great guy and helped get a local hobby shop's customer Blade CP sorted out for me. GMRO, Jason earned JR employee of the month for that one.
4. Raptor team has the coolest team shirts.
5. Raptor team guys taught me to say "AURORRRRA", the trick is to roll the r's. Oh yeah, we need numbers for top pilots like NASCAR, GO #11, you were robbed, more airhorns next year.
6. I learned not to pop too many rumballs into my mouth, like doing shots with cookie dough chasers.
7 I learned that I like deep fried buffalo wings while watching night flying. Kudos to the guy who brought 65 pounds of buffalo wings. They were great.
8. I learned that electric helis really do fly great, got help building and setting up my first TREX and vowed I will own a TREX 600
someday. Thanks to Gary Rowlands and Scott Globus for the help with the TREX setup.
9. I learned not to miss the "Raptor flier" picture, a friend camped next to me won the Raptor Titan while I was sitting at my table building another Raptor 50. And they give away those cool hats and shirts if you are lucky.
10. I learned that if you get up very early there is hot water at the AMA showers.
In short, can't wait until next year. IRCHA 2007 ONLY 361 DAYS AWAY. |
