Alan's crash was due to the battery connector not being plugged into the switch all the way. He had trimmed off a Futaba tab connector on the battery end and pushed it into a Airtronics switch connector. The result is always in a tight fit if you don’t put the bevel on it. Well after we took the canopy off, I pushed the connector together all the way and the power all came back.
Danny's tail problem was due to an error on his part on not getting the boom inserted into the two pinch clamps all the way, and having only a partial engagement on the coupler. He fixed that problem and came back in an hour, only to find he lost his magnet for the gov. on the fan. All in all I think everyone had some small problems and overcame them as the days passed.

Hello guys,

Hope everyone got home safe. It was GREAT to see all of you and share the fun. Seems there is never enough time to do all the catching up at these events...

I thought everyone flew extremely well. I enjoyed seeing all the top notch pilots SPANKING their favorite brand.

It was fun to see all the "FREE" helis pilots got during each flight as they almost went in during their flying. <G> The level of flying was simply unreal!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU GUYS ROCK!

Thanks to IRCHA for putting on a superb event. RonK and Carol, DaveM, Charles and Brett...my hats off to you. And ALL the others who helped manage the event in the thankless jobs.

I very much appreciate all the folks who make this event happen.

Peace out,

GMRO

Unless you were there.... You would not believe the level some of these guys are flying at!!!!

Highlights for ME...

Bobby Watts has to be the most improved pilot this year!!! You buddy, are up there runnin with the big dogs!

Fun to watch Nir, and Curtis nite fly with virtually no lights working on their ships!!

Noon demos this were were all awesome to watch!!! And half were from guys that never did ircha demos before!

503 registerd pilots!!!!!

Great job Ron and all invloved on another great event!

we need more frequencys!! I was able to say, I will take what ever in avaliable (any chanel) and they were ALL OUT! I feel sorry to guys that only had one chanel! Several times EVERY PIN was taken!

Good to see all my buddys, time went by to fast!

---

Great job AMA staff with dealing with fridays trailer fire, a few people keeping straight heads, i'm sure saved that trailer, shutting down the generator probably saved the day.

VERY competitive flying! I waited on 59 for the better part of Saturday, and then was getting hit after only one minute of flying. Owell, the pit pass and chance to meet/greet was WELL worth the time and money. I spent some time with pilots I never thought I'd get to, and gleaned information that is priceless to me. Thanks to all the volunteers and crew who made it happen. Over 500 pilots is RIDICULOUS.

IRCHA 2006 was a great time I look forward every year to this event. I want to Thank Jeff Green at MRC for the two heli's and equipment that he donated to the build off contest Jeff you truly are a great ambassador for this hobby and I wish you all the success, on a personnel note the heli we assembled was a pleasure to build Hirobo Sceadu 30 this kit is top notch and straight forward, one of the easiest kits to build and fly. I also want to thank my bud Kevan Bowers, he and I won the build off contest but I think Kevan did most of the work.

Thanks again to everyone at IRCHA can't wait till next year.

"Can you highlight on why you didn’t do any demos for Team Raptor or did you? Could it be that your had a boom strike and took out your first Raptor on Thursday, and lost the second one due to a lock out on the same day, and fill me in was there a third one? I was a little busy helping the kids to keep that close of tabs on everything that was going on."

Jerry, does this mean you're not going to let Allen fly your Piper Cub anymore? HE HE HE HE HE

So it is over now, IRCHA 2006 was another great success. It is, no doubt, the biggest and most Fun Event on this continent. IRCHA 2006 presented the best ever noon demos I have seen this year. The flying was incredible as one can expect at such event. Nice to see a broader international presence. It was great to meet friends again but time flies by to fast. How about a 7 day IRCHA 2007 ?

I like to thank the AMA team for having this event planned and organzied
so professionally and for the hard work of all volunteers so others
could enjoy the time been there. I also like to thank Ron for running
the competition events. I am looking forward to meet you and Nathan
again next year. You guys rock.

Ouch looks like the canopy got dorked. That sucks . Was he able to get it shut off or did it chicken dance? Bad battery connections tend to do that. Ask me how I know

QWW boom supports, Rocket City links, and Dubro plank tank fuel cap,

Those are pretty insignificant items, imo. I think they did what they had to do at the time to get the bird in the air and I believe that it was better that they got it in the air than to not to.

unproven machine

I wouldn't quite say it's unproven really. All of the major key components have been in production and flying for at least a year now with the Avant FX/EFX, barring the tail box, but its just a tail box and thats easy to design and test just on the bench, which was done months and months ago. Also, carbon Xtreme has done full load and stress testing on every component using state of the art equip and computers to ensure that the loads and stresses are within tolerances.

Lets face it with the Aurora (and just Carbon Xtreme in general) its all about politics and loyalties that are trying to put it down. In reality, when you look at it from a hobbyist, consumer, connoisseur of helicopters standpoint(like me), it is absolutely top notch and definately is going to make its mark in the heli history books.

*Side Note: All of my jabber is all in good discussion and I have no grudges against anyone here, just giving my humble opinions and knowledge*

Jerry...

Thanks for the Jerry report. You always keep things " on the real" and I appreciate it.

How did you like your R620? I did not get the opportunity to really check it out while I was there on Friday. I am looking forward the videos.

As for the rest of you, relax. What the Szabo's and Augusto do is not going to end your personal lives. The Aurora will be out when it's out. Fly what you've got and be happy. All this pissing and moaning is not gonna make CFX work faster.

As for me, I'll be happy with my Stratus for a long time to come.

I hope you guys didn't let that keep him from flying! Believe it or not, a throttle curve works too!! LOL

Of course you will, cause you already bought it, lol, just had to rib ya Really like the Stratus too, I saw a guy go in with one and those channels to the skids totally saved the frames, where as with a Extreme or Tempest, the frames would've been toast. That saves A LOT of TIME and WORK for sure not having to take everything apart!

My Stratus arrives tomorrow at the LHS and I am very fired up!! I saw a few diffent Stratus crashes and it did not make me want to cancel my order. Tim and his team were very cool and very helpfull.

I was really, really impressed with Colin Bell. I don't know that I have ever seen any one push a Rappy that hard. I give him a great deal of credit for not exploding his machine in mid-air. I think he will be one of the top competitors in the coming years.

Not only can Colin fly the daylights out of the R90, but he and his dad were extremely personable as well. Really was glad that they were able to make the trip out to Muncie this year and hope that they will continue to do so in the years to come.

Personally, I think Matt Botos had probably the best noon demo of the weekend on Friday.

As for the machine debate, I don't believe I saw a bad machine in the air this weekend and the guy behind the sticks is really what makes each machine special in its own way. What you fly really just comes down to what trips your trigger.

Already looking forward to IRCHA 2007.

You said it Kinger!! Botos' Synergy demo was killer for sure. I was there on friday and got some killer video. As for me, Bobby Watts friday demo was my fave. He was totaly on point and he flew very well in time with his music. I was really ticked that I had to change tapes and did not get any of it on flim. Oh well, I am sire mark was there to back me up

IRCHA exemplifies the comaraderie that exists within our hobby where tons of folks with a common interest get together to just have fun, meet and greet; irrespective of manufacturer or sponsor affiliations.

Wished I could have made it this year.
