I just got back to work from practicing. I had limited time so I could only get 2 tanks worth in.

Does anyone else just get shakey and nervous while they fly? My hands are still shaking. I can feel my legs get all tense and I have to concentrate to keep the TX from dropping out of my hands. I beginning to believe that the point at which the nerves calm down, will be the same point when I will start doing more than hovering.

Just my $.02

The shaking is norm. I still shake and I'm doing basic aerobatics like FFF, stall turns, rolls, flips, etc. Don't rush it. You will know when you are comfortable to move on when the shaking stops. I usually shake on the first flight of the day also. I usually burn a tank getting back the feel for the helo and usually just do hovering and some circuits. After that I start practicing the 3D stuff when I feel comfortable and not shaking as bad. Just take your time.

Every time I try something new, my thumb shaking is so bad it actually translates into the heli shaking. Kind of funny to see really, although a tad embarassing to have a heli shake like that due to nerves.

Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.

The shaking is normal. I have a great vid of me shaking like crazy after doing my first piro's and an attempt at a nose in hover. I might have to talk Fromme2u into posting it!!

My first flight will always be just mild hovering with no frills. I am still learning as well and will have the shakes for some time, but if the shakes are making me uncomfortable, I will land and calm down a bit.

No problem Rick, only one problem is I'm a cheap bastard and haven't paid my $20 dollar gate fee. So I won't be able to post it until Monday. Unless somebody knows of a good video server.

I've never understood the shaking thing... but many of the people I've trained were shakers. I started doing this at an age where shaking didn't even enter my mind. (9 years old on planks, 12 on helis)

I do find that I lean forward for some reason when I'm hovering nose-in-inverted down on the deck (lowest I've ventured it waist level). I don't know why that is. Its like I want to get a foot closer and stand on the balls of my feet. Makes no sense to me as I type... but I know that I do it everytime I'm hovering down low like that. Odd.

The shaking is a sign for telling me that its time to move to a new manuver. Once I become comfortable the shaking stops and I dont have to contcentrate soo much on stick movements. Also I hate it when I fly after there has been an crash. I was really nervouse today after I took a flight after someone just demolished his heli. I felt like that there is crash demon out there. LOL

Good times!! And thanks Chad!(fromme2u) I never shake doing inverted hovers a few inches off the ground on G3, but it's amazing what happens when you try a new thing with the real deal and thousands of dollars are at stake! I am sure I will get over it sometime, but I figure as long as I am learning new things, the shakes are going to be there. Once I feel uncomfortable, I will land and gather myself before moving on. No reason to keep flying if I am shaking so bad, or am not comfortable with what's going on.
