This is what I have found in other sites. They say is the best balance charger you can have now!

What you think?

Isaac

Product Features:
1. Input voltage: DC 11V~15V. The working electric current is less than 6A when it is charged in full load. The current of the fuse is 10A?which could prevent short circuit.
2. The charge current is 0.2A~2.0A and the adjusting step is 0.2A?which can be set by the buttons on the board.
3. Controlled by 4 separated internal micro computers. charge 1S-4S battery separately. no like other serial charging + balancer setup on the market. More efficient.
4. 4 separated JST style charging ports, one general charging port.
5. Big LCD display. real-time displays voltage and charging processing clearly and separately.
6. Low voltage protection. charger won't charge any cell if voltage is lower than 2.7v.
7. Automatically stop charging when it's done. A buzzer will call.
8. 4 separated parallel charging circuits ensure your battery 100% fully charged. Higher efficiency.
9. Charge mode of the balanced parallel connection
A. charge in parallel connection for one single cell or four single cells at one time
B. charge in parallel connection for a pile of two series-wound lithium cells or two piles of two series-wound lithium cells at one time
C. charge in parallel connection for a pile of three series-wound lithium cells or one single lithium cell at one time
D. charge in parallel connection for a pile of four series-wound lithium cells
10. Working rating: -20 ~ 60 C
11. Fully circuit protection: protect the charger and battery even when connect the battery or the power supply reversely.
12. General charging port will allow you charge any lipo battery which has balanering leads.

Just picked one up and will try it tomorrow. I'll let know what I think.
From what I've read on other sites, it's a good charger for the money and performs as advertised.

DN charger

From what I've been told it does just about everything BUT tell you how many mah have been put in. For some reason they left that feature out.

Does anyone have experience with DN Power LiPo batteries. I just purchased 2 2150mAh for my TRex and I'm wondering how they will perform.

I guess it doesn't really matter......because I own them now

Update:

Never mind. I just did a search within RR and found a bunch of threads. Sorry about that folks. I'll put my self in a timeout in the corner.

Ouch! That ground hurts!!

Well, I don't know about this....
11. Fully circuit protection: protect the charger and battery even when connect the battery or the power supply reversely.

I just smoked my DN charger. I don't know if it was working or not cause this was the first time to use it. It appears that the charging leads on the DN batteries are reversed compaired to my other six batteries I have. I plugged the DN charger into my 12 volt source and had no LED's come on on the charger, I thought maybe it needs a battery connected. So not wanting to use one of my new DN batteries I used one of the other six I have and puff, smoke came out of the charger. I am try to find where in the manual it says if you use a standard battery you have to use the reversal leads.

Question to anyone that has the DN charger, does the LED's come on where you power up the charger? If so, I might of had a bad charger to begin with since I had no lights when I powered on the charger before connecting the batteries.

cowboytx,
I've been using one for a couple of months now and haven't experienced any problems. I'm using a Radio Shack 13.8 15 Amp power supply as my power source. The LED's do come on when I power it up. Sounds like you got a Lemon.

Yes, just my luck... I did get the LEDs to come on now but it look like one of the cells does not charge. I am working with the dealer to get a replacement.

Thanks.

DN POWER CHARGER ISSUE

cowboytx,

I've been having the same problem with my DN Charger as you are experiencing. Appears it hasn't charged one of my cells in my 3s lipos since day one. Shows charging of the other two, but not first cell. Tried Apex, and new Polyquest, same issue. Just emailed DN Power to ascertain if this issue is a problem with the charger, or otherwise. My bet is that it is the charger.

Can't say that they a bad, but the battery protection circuit did not work on mine. I guess I was lucky that I did not blow up my lipo. No where in the manual did I find it to say that you needed to use the reverse jumper plugs to charge non DN batteries. Bottom line, you have to be really careful when using a mixture of batteries.

Question: is DN the only company that is reversing the balance charging leads on their batteries? I bought 4 of them and they are really good but just a pain to use the jumpers when charging.

I just recieved one today.

cowboytx,
Are you saying that the battery charging leads are opposite? so a +red -black on a battery would be the should connect to -black +red on the charger itself? im so confused

I just received one of these yesterday and trying work things out myself. The directions are not that good (think it lost something in the translation to english) and quite confusing (at least to me). I haven't been able to reach their web site (www.dn-power.com). I have a very basic question that maybe someone here can answer. I have not used a charger that charges via the balancer connector before and charges each cell individually.

If my 2100mah pack can be charged at 1C (2.1amps), would I set the charge rate for each cell to 2.0amps or to .6amps (.6 x 3 = 1.8amps)??

Does anyone know if this charger/balancer can be used to just balance an already fully charged pack?

I’ve been using them (the charger and 20C batteries) for a few months now and have had 0 problems with either. Batteries have been great on my Trex CF running stock motor on a CC35. Good power and they stay nice and cool. Just bought a Hacker Motor to put in it, so will see how they do on a real motor. So far I’ve been very happy. I’m thinking about buying another combo deal with the charger and 2 Batteries. For a $139.00 it’s hard to beat.

The only problems I have had with this charger, are it likes to "time out" or just pause with charges around 1.8 to 2a, and also it seems as though something is wierd in the connectors just inside the case- batt1 sometimes doesnt register- other than that, its supposed to be real good- honestly, i am pretty happy for the price- one more thing, The charger I have is EXACTLY the same as the DN charger except for one thing- it says common sense r/c... is this some sort of generic charger that all of the companies are buying to sell as their own?

I think they are the same. I have the CommonsenseRC version and it looks exactly the same as the DN. So far it has been an excellent charger.
