Century 300

I have been flying the century 300 for over a year and have been very happy with it, it flies very smooth and it went together very well right out of the box. It is a favorite when I go to fun flies. I planning on getting the bell 47 as so as it comes out in the spring, it looks great. I will try to post some pictures in my gallery. Charles

I have to agree between the two choices. The Century model looks terrible, nothing like a scale Schweizer 300 !! (IMO) The JR kit is a lot more believable as a scale model.
I looked at both and decided to buy the Robbe kit instead that fits the Moskito. I did a lot of mods to my kit to try and get it something like a true 1/6th sclae model, including extending the tail boom to correct length and the undercarriage was changed to something a bit nearer the correct size/look. Check out my gallery for a couple of pics of it (sorry about the picture quality !)

Schweizer 300

Are we comparing apples to apples here?????

One of the issues of Model Helicopter Technique did a direct comparison of Hughes/Schweizer 30's in the 30 size. I have to agree with their findings. The Century was by far the most scale. It also flew very well. Mine is a real sweetheart. (the opening and closing doors are a hit wherever I take it).

In fact they rated the JR unit as one of the least scale.

The key gentleman is "30 SIZE".

Century does NOT have a 60 size one but JR does. Of course JR's 60 size version is a lot different more scale (and a lot more money) then their 30 size version and even more money then the great looking Century 30 size unit. So it is unfair to compare an expensive 60 size unit (over $1100.00 for a set of Ergo 60 mechanics and the S-300 scale kit) to a $300.00 complete unit!

Check through the other pages of this scale site and see this discussion has already been covered.

I agree oldfart & rotorsport. The Century Schweizer 300 looks better, I like that open doors!
nothing like a scale Schweizer 300? Wrong! I think JR S300 in 30 size is the one that looks ugly.
