I see in the manual the suggested clunk kine length is 60mm which seems a bit short to me, for those who already have their synergy's, what length are you using?

I will be running a non pumped OS91 SZH and plan to fit a header tank

Tubing length

harveyhugo,

You can make it slightly longer but you have to remember, the clunk needs to wrap around and reach the front of the tank as well. If you make the tubing too long it will not flop to the front.

Also if the fuel pick up is too far rear, In fast forward flight with the nose down constantly the clunk can run dry (as on any heli) with low fuel it will run for a while with the fuel magnet but not forever!! any other type of flight is impecable right to the last drop with the fuel magnet, piro stuff ect

hope this helps

Thanks for replies will go with 60mm then

Any thoughts on the need for a header tank with the non-pumped OS91 SZH. This is my first 90, always had OS50's with a header tank before

If you have the fuel magnet ( foam clunk, Non stock) then no header reqired but without one it would be advisable and ceartainly nessasary

I thought you could not use a fuel magnet with a system using muffler pressure, something to do with the exhaust gases

Will get a header tank then I think

It is possible but the sponge element corrodes fairly quick especialy if you run the tank low, they also sell replacment elements and other people have used the felt type (as used on gassers) these are more robust and i ran one on a stratus for a good while with no issues.
if you can spare some cash the cline system with carb mod is the way to go (simmar to ys) no exhaust preasure and regulated at the carb,Dead easy to install and tune and consistant to the last bit of fuel!

Cline system with carb mod does appeal, but will have to wait until the cash crisis which begins at 3DM tomorrow passes

Using the Non-pumped 91 SZH here.

Using a header tank, pretty standard setup all round. Come check it out at 3DM.

Britflyer,

What's your flight time with the header tank?

Not sure Charles, never timed it. I just fly till I'm ready for a break. And there is usually still a good minute or so worth of fuel left in the main tank.

So don't need the header from a duration point of view.

I'll time it next time I go flying.
