My Posts This: Topic Forum | Yep, driving the tail rotor during an auto on any heli certainly does bleed off head speed faster as it takes more energy to drive a tail rotor (even at 0 pitch) then most realize. A lot less on a shaft drive then a belt drive, but still a noticeable amount.
My Raven 30 has the CTD unit installed while my Hawk Pro is stock. Using the same rotor blades on each there is noticeably more reserve at the bottom with the Hawk.
But I am an addict for piouetting autos, and there is still more then enough reserve with the CTD unit so I have much more fun autoing the Raven 30 with the CTD unit. |
