I have 8231's on my backup Dyna. Actually I've had these servos for years and they are very good.
They are not as fast as the 9252s though, so you cannot get the snappy cyclic response with the 8231s like you can with the 9252s

They're still not bad though, if you've got them in your drawer already you wouldn't do too much harm using them

2123's are great on pitch, but completely over the top for cyclic as well

I've been using the 9252s allround and been very happy with them. This new one will have 9255 servos.

The Dyna Deluxe has the metal tail and main blade grips.

Yes. The both of my models are Deluxe ones. But I still don't have metal tail blade grips though Anyway, many 3D pilots seem to prefer plastic main blade holders and that's why I mentioned that I'm using the alu ones..

And what the hell, A webra 91Hi, good luck with that beast

It will be VERY interesting to see how it actually works. The main idea is to cut down my fuel cost, but also wanted to give it a try as I've been using other Webra engines for years now and been very happy with them.

Ah yea, flying bike, i see what you meant, i sort of ignored it as i did not know what you meant by it, Could have been some sort of women!

AS for servos I'm going for KO pro all round

Jarno,What gear ratio you going to use for that engine? Now i see what you meant about the tail grips, yea, il be using the metal ones, i did before and they were fine. Don't know what you mean about 3d pilots using plastic ones. Maybe cos 3d Pilots hit the ground to many times.

Usually 3D guys just prefer plastic main blade grips. If you're running very tight setup everywhere else then it would be nice to have grips that can flex a bit. In opposite I do fly pretty soft dampening and have found out that my Dyna-X tracks better with the alu grips in fff. Just my thoughts, so you can ignore most of it

That would be quite a sight!

Rev max is poo, I'm getting a Rev Lock 20 for it ( a governor and a limiter in one)

OS91SZH... pumped

I have had bad things happen when i had a pumped C spec ended up converting it back to non pumped. I don't really see the benefit of the pump systems. non pumped always worked for me.

OK...OK...
I think that this is just a matter of taste... as the RevMax can also act as a governor (it depends on how you set it up)

On my side, I didn't select the pumped OS91SZH but the OMI Cline one... once again this is just a matter of taste...

Jarno,What gear ratio you going to use for that engine?

8.0 should be fine for it. As far as I know the Hi engine will have lower max output (hp) than the 90-size nitro engines, but will have more torque. So running it e.g. at 15000 rpm's should give nice amount of power. For F3C it's definitely the torque and wide power band that matters.

ShuttleSmasher,

I've been running 2 KO 2123's in my Dyna all season and they definately rock. I previously had just a KO on the collective and 9252's on the cyclics but found that the cyclic authority was not to my liking. Once switching to the KO's I was completely satisfied.

I also ran a OS91 SZH with a cline until it bit the dust from a faulty rear bearing (long story ). I currently have a C-Spec with an OMI big bore carb and I ran both engines at 8.08 gear ratio using an SB-18 muffler at 1950 headspeed for 3D flight.

This setup has proved to be very strong and agile

Also, the new V-blades are second to none.

Should I understand that you (all pro KO) do prefer speed to torque?

As it seems that Futaba 9351 do offer a higher torque... but it is true that KO2123 is 2 times faster...

Futaba 9351 vs KO Propo 2123... what are your thoughts about it

That said Futaba is almost 50% more expensive!

Andy, Thanks i forgot the mille 3 flybar thingy, got a part no for that ? I was speaking to alex about this and he reckons Chen never had a problem with flybars breaking, also i never had a fly bar break on me. I sort of believe it could be a setup issue.

Ledfood, I did run Ko's all round on the previous Dynax i have but before it got stolen i was also running in an engine, so never really got the chance to test it fully. I liked how the cyclic felt in the hover! Was running the standard cspec with the viper head and that always gave me plenty of power and smoothness, so i may go back to a viper if im not pleased with the engine. Yea i love V's too but am going to give MAH a try, maybe some Radix later

My thoughts on the 9351,never used them so i have no idea.

Jarno, you will have to give us a report on that engine once its in the Dyna.

If you're using upgrade mixers and upgrade flybar support then it's probably possible to "override" flybar when using some extreme combination of the holes. As far as I remember when I asked Chen about this in Spain he said that he had more issues with broken clutch than broken flybars.

I will definitely report on that engine thing as soon as I get it.

Gary I think some of the flybar issue could also be related to the head dampening. Chen was running an incredibly stiff setup in the head which I think could have helped.

Andy, That sounds very reasonable. I remember Chen telling that he had six extra shimms on both sides! I'm not sure about the exact amount of them, but the head felt like it was welded.

I also runn a very stiff head setup. I am running 90 duro dampners with about 1.5mm of shimm on each side. The heli will wobble below 1600 RPM but it is great for 3D.

I have never had any flybars break on mine but I have had my share of clutch issues .
