Hi Greg. Len's heli took him 437 hours, according to his documentation. The only thing he bought was the turbine.Every other piece was handmade, including the rotorhead. It sounded great, and was very impressive in flight.

Fantastic coverage!

Thanks Mark, this was fantastic coverage of the event. The still pictures really caught the event well and the videos really show what is going on with the maneuvers for those that have never seen them. Job well done and a big thanks to you and your family for being there!

Regards,
Cliff

Yeah Mark that was really great you doing the videos.

With the new schedules out now there has always been questions on how a maneuver should be executed, after seeing Curtis and Scotter doing them, many of those questions have now been answered.

Thanks very much for that.

That must be SOME video camera you're using!

Si

I really liked the video of Curtis and Gordie walking through schedule B with Scott flying. The amount of precision these guys have even with what appeared to be a pretty stiff wind is incredible.

Mark,

Please accept my personal gratitude for providing exposure for the US Nats that has been so sorely missed in the past few years. Fine work.

Mark,
I have thouroughly enjoyed the coverage. It is nice to see this aspect of our hobby and see these manuevers performed in real life and not on paper.
Out of curiousity what was the average wind speed these guys were competing in? Looked to be about 15 to 20 mph.

For the most part, the wind was pretty light. It started to pick up on the second day and in the final round of contest. I'd say the most wind we had was near 10 mph, which isn't exactly light when you're trying to park a model over a cone.

scale competition entry

to my knowledge, there isn't a limit on how many times you can run the same entry

after a couple seasons, they tend to look quite 'weathered'

however, to be competitive, you need to make improvements, add details, hardware, etc
